Until he's standing next to Hird holding up a Red & Black jumper, then I'm not even considering it a chance. We always seem to have some interest in a star every year and come away with nothing.

I'm just excited in getting JD.

I'm trying to do the same, so I don't feel disappointed when we inevitably don't get him...

It's either us, GWS, or stay with st kilda.

Most likely he wont come to us because we never land a big fish :( .

Robbo on SEN played down our chances of landing a big fish this arvo...apparently even though Sheeds has moved on we are STILL difficult to trade with.

The difference this time as someone pointed is we wouldn't have to trade - we wouldn't have to talk with St. Kilda at all in fact.

If clubs are still living of the notion that we're difficult to trade with, then Free Agency really should be right up our alley.

Exactly, last year we convinced caddy to come to us, unfortunately GC put a stop to that

Yeah thats true! Id forgotten about that :)

I don't know why, but I'm super confident that we can land the BJ.

Out of context, that's a strange sentence...

Alot of talk about Myers wanting to go back to Perth... Would be a mini disaster as I consider him one of a few that have the potential to develop into top line mids of which we currently have just one.

If it were to happen it obviously provides us with a reasonable trading tool though.

I'm happy to give Goddard the cash. An A+ player when going and his cleanliness by hand and foot is just what we need. Front ended four year contract sits fine with me.

More than happy to see Monfries move on who has been the financial beneficiary of how poor we've been over the last 7 - 8 years anyway.

Daniher comes in and based on our national drafting expertise which is average at best, trading could be our best bet if the right deals can get done.

A choice of 2 - Can only get one - Goddard or Caddy ?
Goddard. Greater flexibility, better kick, smarter player, better mark and overall more proven in most (if not all) facets of the game. Takes us from also-ran to Contender in a year.

Caddy probably has greater upside though

Goddard, just because he is proven and, when on, is an elite player.

Caddy would be nice to have too, but you've only given me the choice of one. :p

I'd agree with Caddy having greater upside. He's barely done anything. We'll be paying the draft position tarrif if we trade for him. Not for me thanks.

tbh, i want us to try and bring in 4-5 players through trade/FA. We have far too many list cloggers and if we are never going to make a push to the flag unless we must trade now.

2013:

In:
Goddard, Pearce, Moloney, Caddy, Toy + draft picks

Out:
McVeigh, Monfries, Slattery, Del'Ollio, Baguley,Davey, Reimers, Hooker, Dyson (trade)

2013 round 1:

--Fletcher---Carlise--Toy----
--Goddard--Hurley--Heppell---
-Zaharakis--Watson--Myers---
--Winderlich--Gumbleton--Caddy--
---Crameri----Daniher---Jetta----

--Ryder---Moloney--Stanton---

Int: Howlet, Hibbs, Pearce, Colyer/NLM/Melksham/Hocking

Bolded no, Italics maybe, rest yes. Also; Hibberd would start easily...
