They are definitely collectively hurting. It wasn't the "Carlton fans" who wanted more, it was the grubby journos wanting stuff to fill columns/headline the evening news. They don't give a stuff about what Carlton fans want. If they did, they wouldn't have been so quick to stick the knives in this year at the first hint of us struggling on-field. As far as I'm concerned MM should give them nothing.

I would be concerned if MM was to announce the changes he was going to make without talking to the current assistant coaches, McKay and spending some time at the club to work out what is actually broken and needs fixing. It is not inconceivable that there are some thing being done at the club that are better than at Collingwood. It is a classic mistake to think that your systems are better than your competitors and you can't learn anything from the way your competitors operate.
