Sydney is, clearly. It's a reasonable request, and Sydney have been entirely unreasonable by chasing a player they have never been willing to part with an adequate amount of trade capital to acquire.

To be honest, if Sydney can't offer a decent trade I'd prefer to throw him into the PSD. No point strengthening a rival side if your not going to get anything worthwhile out of it. Also sends a strong message to any other players planning to do the same. I know it sounds petty but I'd rather see my club die on its feet then live on its knees.

That there is a bunch of trolls in here that completely ignore reality of player value, cry foul of any statement made and try to twist it from something simple while using idiotic buzz words is why they argue.
Too dense to figure market value from offered money, compared with the rest of league, you get an obvious value that Jesse White or any of these other trades thrown up quite simply do not come close in equating to.
The suggestion that a top 5 pick is unreasonable is laughable, that top 5 pick as well as anything coupled with it is highly unlikely to equate to anything near equal value it's simply something Sydney are perhaps capable of delivering.

To come out and say your going to trade none of your best 22 for your soon to be highest paid player, expect to hold onto pretty much everyone bar players wanting to leave and possible delistees is incredibly ignorant and arrogant.
It's not really an argument it's though the statements come with reasoning, trolls aren't interested in reason so it is just declarations.
Can't think of a reason someone would lose their composure of that, writing words that seem excited doesn't require the excitement from the writer.

While i respect your idea, i wonder; is it better to accept unders from Sydney (if that's what happens), assuming he'll probably get to Sydney for nothing in the PSD anyway?

Surely if you are worried about making Sydney stronger, letting us have Tippett + pick 22 is worse than letting us have Tippett and you having pick 22?

Plenty of good players have gone lower than pick 22. For example, in 2006 a guy called Kurt Tippett was drafted at pick 32.

I wouldn't think letting Sydney have a free pick 22, while losing out on one yourself helps Adelaide's cause too much.

Can't price himself away from GWS, despite the deceptions Sheedy throws around, and I think he's more than willing to test the idea that Tippett just wants to be in Sydney the city, so the GWS will be fine. He doesn't have a premiership team to worry about, Skirt throwing a hissy fit is a hit they can absorb - and if he quits, so what? The GWS has to play list shrinksies next year anyway, and they get his salary back.

There is no way clubs will leave an extra 900-$1m in their salary cap per year for an extra player to hopefully get him in the PSD. Clearly that is too risky..By PSD time, all decisions about player rosters will me made.

There is no way a club will draft Tippett if he doesn't want to be there. Especially if they have to match Sydney's offer. Prior to the PSD, Tippett through his management will go and once again advise all clubs that his club of choice is Sydney.

Don't think you quite understand, how do you plan to fit him in your cap for 2013 when you are still paying these guys? Why have you had to backload his contract?

As for your premiership team in tact, it's going to change in 2014. Theres also the fact the Hawks, the team you just beat have got stronger with he inclusion of Lake and you wouldn't want to rely on poor kicking for goal again.

Because we're well under our cap in 2012. Look at the team list. We have 1 "marquee" player. Goodes. Say, $650 - $700k. Nearly all of our players have been signed at well under their 2012 output/value.

Absolutely not reading this whole thread.

The only way I want to get Tippett is without giving up any premiership players or injured players such as Rohan. Otherwise let him go into the draft. It looks like a huge risk to pay this amount of money for Tippett and also lose wanted players. I personally don't want him. With Reid and Pyke developing very well I am quite confident with what we have. Throw in the stellar form of LRT and things look good. Anyway, the system is the system and Sydney do not have to offer like for like. They actually don't have to offer anything.

As for Adelaide, I have no problems with them playing hard ball. If they are prepared to get nothing for Tippett then this sends a message to their current players. Is the message more beneficial than taking something? Time may tell.
