So who will likely get him in that case?

My guess is Sydney. I wouldn't risk it if I were Carlton/Brisbane/Gold Coast.

However that's with me still thinking he's homesick but clearly he's not. He may devote himself to any club willing to pay for him. Sydney may have exposed that by offering him a large amount of money. Understandably Carlton may not have bothered before thinking he just wanted to go home.

Unless a deal is confirmed all talk of Sydney's trading reputation is speculation.
Speculation? That's what BigFooty is all about! Seriously, though, I couldn't agree with you more... let's just wait and see what happens before sticking the knives in.

You need to get a life buddy!

You're obviously obsessed & distressed by this..............along with some of your fellow supporters. You've made countless repetitive posts on the matter which may suggest you need counselling on the loss of Tippett.

There ARE worse things in life. Let's just wait & see how this all turns out. Who's to say that we are owed by the Crows on a previous season's trade Or thatperhaps next year or the following year we may give the Crows overs when the shou is on the other foot.

As supporters, we've ALL actually got NO IDEA!
He is !!! What about some of the Hawhtorn supporters take on things in this thread. Some of the posts would make you think Tippett was their player and they are the ones who are allegedly going to get shafted. I wonder why that is ? Oh thats right Cost of Living allowance is unfair.

No, but that's one less tall available for any club looking for one.
That's true. Also I think clubs should look at him in terms of a ruckman who can pinch hit in the forward line, which we never tried with him (we kept trying the opposite). Keeping him on the ball the whole game might be the best thing for his career.

There is more to a certain player's contract than meets the eye. Each case has to be taken individually. If you were personally guaranteeing to pay Tippett's contract, what would be the one & only concern before committing to him?

You MUST make sure that you have factored in the risk. Something so simple as getting a bank loan has the persons risk factor taken into account. Getting insurance is the same.
I've posted this before & I post it again. ALL clubs that might have shown interest in Tippett in the past, may now not be prepared to deal with his concussion risk which has pretty much become a problem just recently. There would be no doubt that he is an insurance risk. Much like Chris Grant of the Bulldogs was when he damaged his neck some years ago. GC & Brisbane would have been warned of the risks & hence have perhaps reduced the amount they are prepared to offer to Tippett in a contract. I can only think then that Adelaide themselves would have had a concern with him. To the point that it wouldn't be such a bad idea letting him go.

That's why I think they will accept the very best they can possibly get for him....................& that is what we , the Swans, give for him. Whatever we give them, rest assured, it will be the best they'll get. Never mind that it isn't what a low risked Tippett would be worth. Adelaide have done their homework, don't worry, we are the best possible team to trade with considering GC & Brisbane weren't prepared to offer him what he wanted How do we know why Tippett has changed his mind.

One would expect that GC or Brisbane would at least be around the ball park of Adelaide's contract to Tippett. They must have come in way too low for tippett & his manager. Remember a manager acts in his best interest.

It's an interesting conundrum for Hawks supporters. If we are abusing the COL to target Tippett, then obviously we must have been saving it, meaning we beat them without using it. Which rather puts a dent in their "asterisk" claims.

I totally agree however Malthouse has already said he is very interested and Carlton did buy Nick Stevens against his wishes. Also Brisbane are shaping into a really nice team and are going to need a Brown replacement very soon.

Either way Kurt will get his pay day regardless of whether we all think he's worth it or not. Good on him I guess.

Maybe Hawks supporters are interested from the "Sydneys excellent trading reputation" because Paul Roos badmouthed Hawthorn over trading impasses a couple of times (Everitt and O'Keefe)

From real life conversations I've had with neutrals, no-one wants us to get Tippett without giving something of value up. I guess that is what happens when you win the flag.

Good point.

Except for the fact that you beat them in 2012 and are looking to sign Tippett for 2013 and beyond.

Sydney will easily be able to find salary cap room in the coming years as Goodes and Bolton finish up, but an extra $900k is still an extra $900k.

Anyway, threre's a whole CoL allowance thread.

RE: Tippett going to the Swans, excuse the name confusion but will there be a Josh (J) Kennedy? When Judd was traded to Carlton Kennedy reluctantly went to WC. Worked out well for us in the end, but at the time he didn't want to be the player that cost his club Chris Judd. Will one of the Sydney 'blood brothers' leave the club so they can get Tippett?

No and nor should they. If we have to give up any of our "blood brothers" then we shouldn't proceed with tippett. I think the effect it would have on player morale will negatively outweigh the benefit tippett MAY provide our team.

This isn't saying adelaide shouldn't get anything for him, they probably should but not from us as we don't have anything of value to offer.

I think that happens regardless of premierships or not.

When Tippett starts busting packs and clunking marks for you guys, im pretty positive team morale will go up.

Really? Comparing Tippett to Judd...
I hope one of the Blood Brothers does stand up and become the reason we don't get Tippett. I don't think he is worth the money.

If you just stand still you will normally get left behind. Even premiers need to keep finding improvements if they want to stay ahead of the pack. By getting Tippett it would be big gain for Sydney even if they lost a young mid like Parker or Rohan (for example, not saying they should be in the trade)

Mitchell, Rohan, Parker, Reid, Hannebery, Johnson and Mumford will provide the improvements next season.

Except they're both more important to us than Tippett IMO.

No doubt some of them will, some may go backwards (not unheard of for young players). There may also be a slight drop off in some players like O'Keefe, Mattner, Shaw and Richards. Will Bolton retire? If you get Tippett i think you should be outright favourites, if you don't you will still be around that top 4 but other teams are more likely to challenge you
