Agree, but someone like Paton is going to need a massive overs no return to Melbourne contract at the end of next year.

They were never interested in Cloke, which would indicate a fat wallet KPF is not n their radar.

GWS would take any big fish surely

I think it's pretty clear with GWS number of picks that you won't be getting him. Good ol Sheedy

Who knows, as i said be interesting if they are willing to pass up the top kids in the draft.

So instead of back loading Tippets contract, GWS front load it. Kurt gets his money a little bit earlier.

Wow Adelaide supporters really are grasping for anything:rolleyes:

GWS didn't want to pay Giles 300k a season, good luck finding a million for Tippett with a bunch of young players (Patton, Tyson, Hoskin-Elliot) still to re-sign.

Doesn't really work that way, if you are going to commit $800,000 a year of your TPP to a player you need to be sure that you have a gap in your list and a need for that player.

What happens next year if a Judd came up and you had a hole in the middle on your list? Compromises your ability to trade for what you want or need in the future.

They've just said it, did you see the article on the Herald Sun?

Yeah i did about trading picks, whats thats gotta do with drafting though, and the right price, doesnt mean anyhthing certain

Hmmm, assuming they don't get the trades done and they've still got the picks, what do you think they will do with them? Pick kids and let the biggest fish of the trade period swim to you guys?

Don't think GWS would do this, but what about the following:

White, TDL and pick 22 to GWS
Pick 13 to Adelaide
Tippett to Sydney

Would Adelaide supporters take pick 13?

I think so, the price and type of player is just not what they are looking for or need at present.

If Tippett was a KPD or first ruck then that is a no brainer for them.

Well depends how good the kids are and salary cap space, do they want tippett when he doesnt want to be there, 5 quality kids your passing up

I presume you know the answer of course

It's possible, but I reckon Sydney and GWS have been in some deep discussions about using Giles as part of the deal so the Swans would have a fair idea what GWS's thoughts are on Tippett.

You reckon? I reckon you reckon wrong

I presume you do too ;) By the way, what was the answer, 100?

Adelaide and GWS negotiated independently for Giles, and in the end he signed an extension with the GWS, with two conflicting stories as to who knocked whom back, and why.

Nah thats why i said i wonder what they will do if he is in the national draft seeking 4 years for close to 4 mill, i dont know at all.

I just want it done one way or the other then we can work on trades with clubs that dont stuff around

So we are stuffing around by not taking 22 for Tippett? Fair dinkum, everyone knows that's unders.

But I agree can't wait for it to be over, by the way I reckon you are now up to post 103

That's the $64 million question, but I would put money on the Swans having a fair idea at present on what GWS's position is on drafting Tippett with pick 13.

All the available evidence suggests its unlikely.

What available evidence?

Wicked i might catch button92 for crap contributed soon then ill have you in my sights

What available evidence?

They have two young quality KPF's already
They have just resigned their ruckman
They were never interested in Cloke
The only other two suitors in GC and Brisbane are out
They could just use pick 13 in the ND rather than trade pick 2 as the Swans are the only other suitor

Collectively the evidence suggests that GWS are not interested, but if they were pick 13 would only need to be used fom their end.
