Any chance of Westies gun Joel Tippett getting drafted? Great lock down defender, booming left boot. I reckon he'd do well to replace Lake in a few years time
Also is Ben Macreadie being looked at by any clubs?
I can see us not doing much this period which would be really disappointing.
Hope to get Melbourne's pick 21 for Shane savage. Then hopefully use it to pick up Garlett

COMPENSATION
A club that has a net loss of players transferring to/from other clubs as free agents in one transfer period is entitled to compensation via National Draft picks allocated by the AFL.
The compensation formula produces a points rating for players based on:
1. The new contract of the free agent;
2. The age of the free agent.
Draft picks are allocated to clubs based on the net total points for free agents lost and gained during the transfer period.
Draft picks will be allocated to one of five places:
• 1st round
• end of 1st round
• 2nd round
• end of 2nd round
• 3rd round
In applying the formula, an expert committee reviews the formula outcomes. The committee has the power to recommend alternative outcomes to GM – Football Operations where the formula produces a materially anomalous result.
Come you Bast,.**ds, IF a single later 1st round pick is not anomalous with a 9million$ contract I do not know what is.
Mark Evans, last year you whinged about our compo picks or lack of for Tom Murphy and Clinton YOung, dont be a hypocrite this year GIVE US THE EXTRA PICK!!!!!
Imagine we sign Chappy.
Then we play Geelong in the 2014 GF. He gets best on ground and we win the flag. I would die a happymanChappy.
Edited for fun.

Longer isn't bad -- I have seen Lowden play some outstanding games for Box Hill - he may be a surprise next year , my thoughts are Lowden is replacement for Bailey , Longer is a replacement for Hale , Grimley is a replacement for Buddy .
Pay him like 90k ... Play him like 10 matches, save him for big games
Sure, he ain't what he use to be ... But still a very worthy player ... I'd have him
Does anyone else feel like Collingwood always do really well out of the trade period every year ? Last year they got a great pick (Grundy), Lynch, and Young ,,,admittedly it didnt amount to anything..but this year again it looks like every available talent (adams, white) is headed to the pies..
McLachlan is a lightweight and inept.I heard McLachlan interviewed by Barrett and he did not appear to be well briefed on the details of possible compensation. In fact he stated it was not his area of responsibility and that Mark Evans and Andrew Dillon determined that. Also, he did not appear to know who was on the panel that determined the level of compensation.
Having said that I am not hopeful of getting multiple picks or even a higher pick.
Nevertheless until Evans or Demetriou discount the possibility there is a very slim chance we may be adequately compensated.
McLachlan is a lightweight and inept.
And McLachlan is being groomed to take over from Demetriou.
It would be like going from Saddam Hussein to Captain Kangaroo!

I honestly believe we deserve it.Mark Evan's will be on that compensation Panel.
Let's hope sanity will prevail! wouldn't complain with 1 compensation pick as long as it's Pick 1..!
Make it happen Mark!

I stand correctedGod no!!
Mark Evans is the man..

Bombers sound in for Sewell![]()
what would they have to deal with though to get him?
straight swap for Zaharakis??? maybe we throw in our 2nd rounder?
Sewell to Essendon, Crameri to Dogs, Pick 22 to Hawks?
