Could we get Longer and Docherty in a bundle deal with a Pick 18, 19 Savage and Sewell combo?

The way I see it that would be picks 18, 19, Savage pick in the mid to late 20s and Sewell a pick in the thirties.

18,19, Savage 25-28, Sewell 35-40 for a pick 12 Docherty and a pick 8 Longer that want out.

Am I dreaming?

Should we just keep our first round pick, push Longer into the draft, and try to take Longer in the National Draft with our first pick?

No-one took a ruckman last year in the first round (until Grundy @ the Pies at 18), so perhaps would be likely to slide through all the other teams' first picks.

Would be a massive waste of a pick and would damage our Relationship with Brisbane.

Is it possible to pick him up in the Pre Season Draft?

From the Brisbane guy, it sounds like we haven't offered a first rounder for Longer.

Could be just the early negotiations.

(example) Hawthorn offering "just" a 3rd rounder + Savage. Brisbane saying no, we want your first rounder + more. Hawthorn say "you're breaking my balls" etc etc, eventually gets their "arm twisted" and settles for just the first rounder for Longer.

Docherty is a rebounding defender. Can read the play well and has good disposal, especially by foot. Probably would fit in quite well at Hawthorn.

Right now, MFC and STK have 20 and 21. That will probably move to 23 and 24 with compos.

I still think one of those and a early third for Savage and our late third

GWS would want senior players and not draft picks I would be assuming? Surely we have a few players who would walk straight into their 22 and play every single game that are on the fringe with us (e.g. Simpkin, Savage, Sewell etc). Some sort of trade with Adams would seem to fit us well. I can't see what Geelong will give up and I guess Collingwood have the Heath Shaw possibility to trade so I do see how they can get him.
