Can't see Freo letting go of Clarke - and I'll walk to the Hawks if we get Kreuzer. VOMIT!
I think vickery more likely to get traded after his performances this year
We could do with 2 TV's?!I think vickery more likely to get traded after his performances this year

Griffiths appears to be past his injuries, been ok this year, at last, big blokes take a while to grow into their bodies. He is very athletic as well. Holds a number of records in various events at his high school, and his mobility is going to suit a team sooner or later.Bellchambers is worth a heck more than THunt, would easily net them a late first rounder.
I like Griffiths a lot but we have too many injury prone players on our list to pick up another one.
We need to get another ruck but we need to do it on the cheap.e.g. guys like Lowden or Ceglar might not be bad options because they will be backup mainly anyway.
"I can pinch hit on a tall and can play on a medium-sized resting mid or even a small," he said. "I aim to be pretty flexible and show some good drive and ball use. In terms of other players, Corey Enright's probably one that I'd love to emulate in the coming years. He can play on anyone and really plays his role in the team. It's aiming high, I know that, but it'd be great to be like that."
Matt Buntine (GWS) is really impressing me vs Nth Melb.
Seems a natural defender, strong in a contest.
Marks well, kicks well, good football instincts.
Stands under incoming kicks, has had a few nice intercept marks so far today...
Listed at 189cm/86kgs and has played on Aaron Black today and done quite well on him, beaten him in some one on ones.
Not sure of his contract status and probably wouldn't come cheap but he's from VIC and there may be a go home factor if he's not getting games (13 in 3 years).
Turns 21 in October, would definitely fit in nicely with our younger brigade...
He was pick #5 in 2011 draft so I'd say at least a first rounder.Would be a very good pick up I think. Thurlow is the type that will get games as his body matures , but Buntine looks ready. But as usual , cost?

Along with Thurlow & Bews, would give some real quality depth to our smaller defenders group.
Funnily, Thurlow is only 5 months younger than Buntine. And Bews is right in the middle of the 2.
Are you talking about Thurlow? Cause I agree. But wherever he ends up, he'll start up back I'd say.I wouldn't even call him a small defender , he is more the tradition ute size that Geelong like , although rather stronger in the body. Id say he would handle a good range of players. Id agree , he would start to round out our selection down back. Do not underestimate the like Kolo and Toohey.
But we rarely trade our R1 unless we really see a need.

Not understimating Kolo & Toohey, they're taller defenders.
I suppose it comes down to whether they rate Buntine (or any player who's team would ask for a 1st rounder) higher than the player they'd project to get in the draft.
I would've thought getting Buntine releases Thurlow as Buntine seems the more natural defender.I was actually saying I would not call Buntine a small, not too dissimilar to Thurlow in rough figures but they just look a lot different , obvious you can see the extra weight. He is more a slightly bigger version of Bews.
As I said , I like him but do we need his type enough for us to trade our R1 , and even then , would our R1 be enough. Right now we are probably in need for the same type that GWS need as well. Players 22-26. I wouldn't trade Duncan , not even for Buntine and another kid

Seems to be a lot of pressure on Thurlow on here to be the next Corey Enright type defensive player...
Like I said, if they want Buntine he'll likely cost a first rounder.
Who knows if he'll even be available... I do think there'll be some GWS players that will be keen to come home, they can't all get games...
The Hawthorn ones will come cheap. All of Lowden Ceglar and Grimley are uncontracted and at least one will walk because there's not enough gametime for them all, and I doubt they will get that much for any of them. Whether they would refuse to deal with Geelong after the Gillies thing is another matter, but they will lose one of those guys and whichever club gets them will do so cheaper.
Spencer genuinely is terrible, while I was clearly being a bit humorous with the Byrnes comment, there is no way we would want Spencer. Gawn is much much better, and even Fitzpatrick is a better choice.
Ceglar is the one I would target. Very impressed with his work v Cats in VFL earlier this year and AFL form fairly good. Mobile. Quick even.
I reckon the Hawks like him more than SpudAvoy ATM - I certainly do.

So looking at this aricle , my guess its probable that Geelong will target someone for the end of 2015 ,and just plug holes till then , with either another kid or a delisted mature body. Especially if the rules change that allow earlier access , re article.
FA names for 2015..
If the AFL agreed to this in time for next season, this would free 2008 draftees such as Beams, Sloane, Motlop, Shuey, Hill and Rich to explore free agency, with all set to come out of contract at the end of 2015.
Zac Clarke, Luke Breust, Liam Shiels, Jackson Trengove, Jordan Roughead, Rhys Stanley, Lachlan Keeffe, Ayce Cordy and Sam Wright are in all the same boat.
However, other high-profile members of the 2008 draft class Jack Watts, Hamish Hartlett, Michael Hurley and Jack Ziebell will not be up for grabs as they are all contracted beyond 2015.
Given next year's free agency pool is already set to include Patrick Dangerfield, Trent Cotchin, Ryan Griffen, Taylor Walker, Matthew Kreuzer, Tom Hawkins, Grant Birchall, Andrew Swallow and Jack Steven, 2015 could boast far and away the most enticing list of free agents yet.

There is two points with Bellchambers. One is he is worth a lot, we couldn't trade for him without giving up more than we would want to. This is why I suggested those other names because you need to get a guy who is fringe at his current club on the cheap, and potentially turn him into a diamond, ala the Crows with Jenkins.
Secondly, Bellchambers would be starting ruck at many clubs so he will not come here to possibly be backup, whereas fringe rucks will and you develop them from there.
.....
That list depends on a revision/alteration of FA. There will be changes what they are debatable but changing the RFA group from 25% to 10% would open up a lot of good players. For the AFL to agree to this I suspect they will bring in something to help protect the bottom clubs .Maybe a move home would get his career back on track.
