God i hope this three way deal involving Varcoe to the Pies for Clark is all bullshit. We are getting the worst end of that deal given the amount of risk we are taking on with Clark. Unless there's picks attached to the deal, we shouldn't be anywhere near it, Varcoe's worth more than just Clark given the amount of risk associated with Clark.
Nup. Take Clark in a heartbeat over Varcoe. Club very keen to get something for Varcoe, as they attempted to last year as well. Bit of risk as you say, but well worth it for a big unit to help Hawkins and even play Domsy's role down back. Varcoe is an outside downhill runner who wont help when the going gets tough. Clark could hold down a key post...that's rare!

Wasn't sure they were looking. Saints apparently were, but I think they used 41 for Membrey, so their draft pick offer will be pretty low (60s???)
Yeah, I reckon if that's all they've got, he'll stay.
He was the one who was a bit disenchanted, I understand- not the club trying to ship him out. Don't think he'll be let go for nix.

Mooney on Trade Radio reckons the Lonergan deal will get done... also pretty scathing of some soft bulldogs players.

I know I'm going over old ground and it's been said before- but he wasn't too 'unhelpful' in 2011, was he?? And, after taking quite some time to come back after his shoulder problems (did you even watch the video of him getting his shoulders taped before a game?), I actually thought he was starting to regain his form- i.e. what we saw pre-shoulder injury, early last year.

Heard that Gaff has requested to come to Geelong, anyway else hear this?
Yeah there was another thread and it was shut down, apparently some faceyb bullshit.

As for Potential straight Bundy trades:
Lions - Rich
Swans - T Mitchell
GWS - Coniglio, Shiels, Greene
Suns - Kolo

Would prefer any of these players than pick 15 from GCFC.

I think this year besides Petracca, Brayshaw, Heeney, Blakely - rest of the mids are speculative or will require time to develop. It seems to be a good draft for key position stocks, particularly KPDs!

Its all right to question things, but not sure panic mode is justified.;)

I actually think there's much more panic on here than there is down at the club. And engaging in any panic at all is not justified in my view.

We are not absolutely flying with the way this trade period is panning out but we're not facing the sort of calamity some would like to suggest is about to befall us either.

Bundy is leaving for reasons entirely unrelated to playing footy. Can't see how anyone at the club is responsible for that.

And Domsy has been offered a deal by another club that not even his biggest fan on here would suggest we should consider matching. He's not simply wanting out for a remotely commensurate offer somewhere else. Not at all clear that he's in any way unhappy at the Cattery.

And Trav was shopped last year, and he's on the same merry-go-round this time as well. It's not like his footy this year was consistently good enough to prevent the scrutiny of his worth emerging again. Not sure how the club has clearly got that one wrong either.

Sure, Frawley chose the Hawks over us. But he's far from alone there. Players are almost incessantly choosing the brown and gold over every other club in the comp right now.

Totally understand that the 'compensation' we receieve if Bundy, Tom and Trav are out the door will not satiisfy too many around here. But that's always going to be the case.

From the club's viewpoint, I wonder how many objective examples anyone can provide that the club has played a precipitous role in 'forcing' the exit of any of these blokes. Or 'barring the way in' for players like Chip.

I, for one, don't see any evidence whatsoever.

Mistakes are made at the GFC. Let's be clear about that, But to suggest that the leadership or culture at the club has deteriorated to the point where players are actively seeking a pathway out simply to avoid the train-wreck just around the corner has no basis in fact at this point.

In short, the idea of a leadership vacuum and poisonous culture developing at the club at the moment simply suits the narrative of the perennially disgruntled.

I think this might be our best bet. Brisbane send something alongside Patfull. They get Bundy and we get a player from GWS.
That said I think the Patfull deal is pretty much done.

Who cares Teri, get over it!.... a few past cameos, ....go have a look on the Collingwood forum at their straw pole on Varcoe, it has them not even wanting him on their list, that's how excited they are bout Trav.
Count ourselves lucky we get Mitch.

Ah, OK- but I think the flag choo-choo train has chuffed off and gone for the moment.... :(

And we've had a few blokes who have been carried along to a flag- I'm sure if we were almost there, a small quick crumber would be an asset, not a liability. (I DO have the right bloke, don't I?)

no because we have McCarthy and plenty of kids who can do their midfield apprenticeship in that position, even Taylor Hunt would be better than Garlett

Garlett would be a 6/10 player at best, the problem is he goes missing too much and in high pressure games he is nowhere to be seen. Classic downhill skier.

We aren't close to a flag anyway, we pretty much need to turn over 9 oldies over 3 years and find a whole bunch of A graders to replace them. Clogging the list with B and C graders won't get us anywhere without all the A graders.

The Hawks can fill holes with B graders cos they have plenty of A grade and B+ grade type players.

And Trav was shopped last year...

IIRC, many of the people who frequent this forum and post a lot, actually denied he had been "shopped around" at the start of the season. They vehemently denied it to anyone who suggested it.

I don't have a problem with him- sounds like you do though- and you need to get over it.
If he plays- great. If he leaves- good for him. I don't stick a knife into him every chance I get, nor do I pump his tyres every time his name is mentioned.

Hate to burst your bubble, but all of those are unlikely imo.

Where have you been the last 6 months. It's a bit more than just a sound.
