Which players (forwards mainly) have been constant recipients of "Joe the Goose" goals or cheapies out the back? I can only really comment about recent years (2000s) due to being quite young, so my list will reflect that. This is not a thread for potting players, I just am genuinely interested who has made a career out of cheapies (slight exaggeration) that has made them seem, statistically at least, better players than they actually are/were.

For clarity: A cheapie is a goal scored from a favourable position as a result of either a soft free kick, staging, or a kick to a player goal hanging who runs in for an easy goal. Basically applies to any goal that is gifted to a player.

We all know what a Joe the Goose is, so I don't need to clarify that.

I'll start.

Angus Monfries : I don't think anyone will disagree with me on this one

Leroy Jetta : See Angus Monfries

Matthew Stokes: Applies more to earlier in his career than in recent years, as he now spends time in the midfield

Lindsay Thomas: Seems to do it an awful lot

Steven Armstrong: Remember him during our premiership year, there was a reason he didn't last long at our club after our premiership year and the easy goals stopped flowing

Don't really remember much pre 2004.

Who do you know of?

Jackson Merrett scores almost all his goals with the "Joe the Goose".

Robin Nahas loves a Joe the Goose

Nahas is definitely our club leader.

In olden days, Doug Wade when at North qualified - by then he was too fat too leave the goal square. Wouldn't have look out of place dribbling the footy across the goal line from 1 metre out with a meat pie in one hand.

Steele Sidebottom doesn't mind a bit of seagull action. Or maybe I just notice him more cos of that ridiculous shit eating grin on his mug every time he gets one.

Corey McKernan didn't get a lot of opportunities, but at least he had the good graces to always go the torpie and try to land the footy in the car park.

Joe the Goose goal is an awesome term in footy.
Where did the term originate from?

Its mostly small forwards over the last ten years or so. Nahas is worse than Thomas in this regard.
