When Daisy Pierce says women used to be told they dont understand football because they dont play football its now not true.
Sorry Daisy, the women's AFL teams would lose to most A grade U16 male teams.
How does that mean they don't understand football though? Plenty of people would understand the game without being good enough players or having the physical characteristics to beat a team of elite juniors.
Was a reference to having an insight in to what the players experience.
Joe Average at home can have an opinion on anything. But its when you are inside that you really see how a club works.
Yeah but I don't see how a women's team possibly getting beaten by an elite junior boys team would be a reflection of their understanding of the game. You're making a tenuous link between two separate things.

The link was between the AFL and the Women's AFL Im merely saying there simply is no link. No matter how much it gets talked up. It will be a very poor quality comp for a very long time.
Its a comp but its our comp, we just let you join in.How would they ever do that, if only they had precedence like a semi or prelim to look to. If the league is fair dinkum, then the top ranked GF team should be at home. But we all know we follow a business not a comp so we just accept it
It's actually our comp and the West Coast comp two. Winning it regularly doesn't give you ownership, obvious innit. Its a comp but its our comp, we just let you join in.
Have the WAFL grand final at whatever ground you like but if you want to play with the big boys..........

I agree re. Hipwood > Schache. I see Schache as someone who can kick the odd 5 goal bag and consistently kick 2-3 goals a game but Hipwood would be probably less consistent but could rip a game apart in a quarter. Will never be a big body more like Ryder build but is so athletic and has so much X factor for someone of his height. Either way we have our tall forwards for the next 10 years locked away, with additions of McStay and Freeman. Not that it really matters, as Brisbane potentially have both for the next 10-15 years, and I know it's a very early call, but IMO, Eric Hipwood > Josh Schache. Hipwood is more athletic (one of the most athletic players in the 2015 draft, in fact) and just seems a bit more suited to the way the game is played today.
That being said, they're both going to be quality players, and are both about five years away from even entering their prime as footballers, so who knows what they could be, or where the game itself is at in that time. I hope Brisbane give them every opportunity to play together when fit going forward, regardless of form.
Over Mitchell? Yeah nahSidebottom is the best two sided player in the competition.
I've always thought he was less a "special comments" guy and more a "wildly inaccurate comments" guy.Leigh Mathews is a garbage commentator.
Not that unpopular I wouldn't have thought.GWS from about 2017 to 2022 will be one of the best sides of all time.
