DONE DEAL: SAINTS & HAWKS EXCHANGE PICKS

St Kilda and Hawthorn have done some business.

The Saints have secured a 2017 first round draft pick and two 2016 second round picks (currently 23 and 36), in an exchange completed with Hawthorn FC late today.

Hawthorn get St KIlda's pick 10 this year and as well as a fourth round pick (number 68).

What does it mean?

How about this: The Hawks send that pick to Brisbane, who then trade Pearce Hanley to the Suns. And that way, Jaeger O'Meara gets to the Hawks.

Obviously there will be other exchanges of picks and players as part of this, but it would now appear a major stumbling block in the O'Meara deal has been overcome.

If they haven't been willing to pay pick 6, the Tigers should have traded a bit further down the first round, got something extra in return, then offloaded the firstie back to the Suns for Prestagiacomo.

Tigers are really giving the impression (yet again) that they don't know what they're doing.

I don't really agree with the last few posts expressing that Hawthorn are selling the farm etc, they may end up paying alot for Jaegar but if he returns and develops along how he once was they will have a future Brownlow medalist capable of carrying a team he was that impressive in his early years.
