I see Stewart kicked 50 in the NEAFL, I understand that's probably equal to 20 in the vfl but it seems a fair result. Also out of contract? Gws might just say walk him , do they need anything off us?

My question is, how many rejected father sons have gone in to excel at another club? Clubs don't usually get it wrong.

I'm not adding jpk as he still started at haw.

Dunkley the only one comes to mind

I think we're quite similar. They are a year of development and mostly a full list in 2016 ahead.
The names that come into our 22 are significant.
Hurley - AA CHB
Hooker - AA FB
Heppell - our best mid
Colyer - best runner/forward entry player
Myers - big bodied clearance player
Watson - what needs to be said

Take Bont, Libba, macrae and hunter out of that dogs team, plus Morris and their next best defender. See how they go

They didnt have their best Key def playing, Suckling, Captain, Key forward, M.Wallis, Crameri, Lin Jong

The buldogs apply far greater pressure, far better at moving the ball quickly around by hand. They are far quicker around the contest.

The teams arent massivily dissimilar though we are probably one of the more similar teams to the dogs. We have natural footballers.

They probably have a Tory Dickson and Jake Stringer over us up forward aswell. Hopefully Laverde can really stay on the park and become a goal kicker.

Zaka wants midfield time, do you really think he'd get it at GWS?

I doubt any rumours of Zaka wanting out are true, especially if it's for "more midfield time" considering he spends almost all his time playing here in the midfield.

Dunkley was only passed on because he basically said to Sydney that if a Melbourne based team bid on him, don't match it

I agree. Hopefully the banned guys coming back free's him up more this year, otherwise he needs to learn how to break a tag.

Seriously weighted in our favour, and I don't see much difference in value of pick 10 and 16 compared with picks in the late 20's/early 30's tbh.

ESS IN: 4, 6
ESS OUT: 1, 41, Hibberd, 2017 2nd

BRIS IN: Hartung, Whitecross, Melbourne's 2017 2nd
BRIS OUT: 16, Hanley

GC IN: 1, 10, 15, 16, Hanley, Essendon 2017 2nd
GC OUT: 4, 6, Jaeger, Prestia, 22, 30

HAW IN: Jaeger, 41
HAW OUT: 10, Hartung, Whitecross

MELB IN: Hibberd
MELB OUT: 2017 2nd

RICH IN: Prestia, 22
RICH OUT: 6, 27

GWS IN: 27, 30 (1332)
GWS OUT: 15 (1112)

We get the two top 10's we seem to desire
Brisbane get player who actually want to play for them and have the Fagan link
Gold Coast get a pick before the Bowes bid and gain an experienced player for one that has been injured for the past 2 years
Hawks get their man (again)
Melbourne get Pig and maintain their presence in the 2nd round of this years draft
Richmond get their man (surprisingly)
GWS get more points

Edit: Added Richmond to my completely realistic hypothetical, adjusted a few picks.
We're getting screwed there if you assume Hibberd is worth say Pick 20, this is the points differential:
[Pick 1 (3000) + Pick 41 (412) + Hibberd (Pick 20, 912) + 2017 2nd (Pick 30?, 629)] - [Pick 4 (2034) + Pick 6 (1751)] = 1168 (approx. Pick 14)

Apparently he was taller then than he is now haha. Gotta love the way teams mess with the height stats in particular.

I find that a little difficult to read, but basically good skills for a KPP but with talents better suited to defence? But then he also says that to make it as a key forward he'd need to improve his work rate and ability at ground level.

I mean it was four years ago, anyone know if that's changed? Or are we looking at yet another defender to be played out of position?

Annddd he shares a birthday (to the day) with Daniher. What's not to love?
It's a bit of a confusing read, says that he has a superior work rate and is also very good at ground level, but for some reason he needs to work on both?

Why waste a year getting a good pick into the club and developing them.

Bad strategy imo. Wastes time. Never on sell for future pot of rainbow as it may never exist.

Huh? You're approach seems extremely short sighted. Saints traded 10 for something along the lines of 23 33 and next years first.

And you think this is bad for them why?

Maybe we could do a three way trade if we want a 2nd rounder this year for Hibberd?
Essendon: Gold Coast pick 27 that they get from the Prestia trade
Melbourne: Hibberd
Gold Coast: 2017 Melbourne 2nd

Yep I reckon that works if GC want to move a pick to next year. Option works for GWS also:
Essendon: GWS pick 28 that GWS gets for WHE
Melbourne: Hibberd
GWS: 2017 Melbourne 2nd

It's all about the dees finding a third party so they keep a second rounder this year.

quite complicated. But if we were gonna start something like this.

MELB IN: Hibberd, Lewis, Rockliff
MELB OUT: 2016 2nd, 2016 3rd, 2017 2nd, 2017 3rd (approx. worth Pick 4 in points), Vandenberg, Dunn.

GCS IN: MFC 2017 picks, EFC 2017 3rd, Whitecross, Hartung, Pick 1
GCS OUT: O'Meara, Prestia, 4 & 8

RICH IN: Prestia
RICH OUT: 2017 1st rounder

HAWKS IN: Jaeger
HAWKS OUT: Whitecross, Hartung, 10

EFC IN: 4, 8, 10, RFC 1st rounder (since they're making finals, it will be 12 and not 1-3, right? ;))
EFC OUT: Pick 1, Hibberd, 2017 3rd

BRIS IN: Vandenberg, Dunn, MFC 2016 picks
BRIS OUT: Rockliff

Brodie, Taranto & Ainsworth/Florent anyone?
plus potentially pick 1 next year :p

My head hurts.

So I take it the policing around keeping points relatively even in trades for draft picks alone is gone??

The Saints and Hawthorn trade (2017 1st, 23, 36 for 10, 68) see Hawthorn in deficit of at least 847 points, and that's assuming they win the premiership. If instead they finish, say, 8th they would be losing 1191 points in that trade alone!

Funny thing is if someone had of suggested that trade on BF they would have been howled down for how far the trade is weighted towards St Kilda.
Ameet is now reportedly looking to trade back into the 1st round this year, possibly using one of their 2017 1st rounders as part of the deal. Ridiculously good trade for the Saints.
