Well obviously it will go to 5 next year.

Another interesting stat is that Northboner, excluding new start up in GWS, are the club with the longest drought of not having a player win a Brownlow.

Now that your best player in Harvey has retired.. Oh I mean sacked, reckon that stat will last a long time, unless they start giving it out for sympathy.
the Brownlow eh. well if it was given out to the best player in the comp then it'd be relevant.

They started this week

Pies are best of the three, but I'm concerned about their future, they're doing a Norf and topping up with shitters so that Buckley doesn't lose his job.

i actually dont mind what Richmond have done so far in the off season, i expect them to climb up the ladder.
North, its all bout blooding so expect some wayward performances.
Pies have taken a couple of gambles, but the list still seems make shift.
I'll say Tigers for me.

Moore is ready to go, 3rd season now, 40+ goals if he plays 20 games would be minimum expectation based on his form to finish 2016
Moore will have enough pressure on him in 2017 being the main target and the focus of every teams planning without unrealistic expectations.

Since 2010 somewhere between 16-20 players in the comp average 2.0 goals per game for the season. Most 3rd year KPF's don't get near that especially when thrust into the main role. 40 goals can't be a minimum expectation, that would be an outstanding year. For me a reasonable expectation is 30+ goals in 2017.

Good question, I am going to be the unpopular person here and say I think Richmond have a decent chance at getting above us and North - mainly for their recent top ups.

All depends.

If the Pies can have functioning AFL quality forward and defense lines then they could do quite well. But they have very little at either end.

North still have a lot of decent talent. Just have lost a lot of their leadership and top end talent. SO I would expect up and down all year. At their best still a top 8 chance. But I'd be surprised if they could keep that up. And if their are injuries - problems.

Tigers were finalists 3 years in a row, and have lost Lids (big) and TV (after 2016 who cares) from that top 8, close to top 4 list. We've added talent where it is desperately need and have a heap of quality juniors getting more experienced. If the tigers repeat the 2016 game plan then miss finals and maybe bottom 4. If they take the VFL team's game plan and use it well then top 8, maybe top 4. All depending on injuries.

So, in conclusion. Who knows???

All depends on injuries, and game plan, and development of kids. I'd say the highest potential is the Tigers, the best current performing squad is North, and the Pies midfield is potentially outstanding and just needs the pine to work properly for them to be very good. Going on the rumours of a changed game plan I'll go Tigers highest, then North on having players that know how to win, then Collingwood based on an incomplete structure.
But I wouldn't be surprised if it went the other way. Too much chance of variability in these teams.

Classic Richmond. Starved of team success because they are well documented for being a destination club for figjams and fingerpointers, now start hanging their hats on brownlows

What a joke of a club.

I don't think our forward line is as bad as people suggest, we have improved with Cloke leaving. At least we will kick to targets that wont put it OOB on the full. Apart from Jesse of course. Moore, Fas and Elliott are decent kicks and aren't the shabbiest forwards going around

Collingwood, us, daylight, Richmond.

I have to say that I don't really get the relative optimism about Richmond's list and prospects (at least compared to North).

They lost one of their best players in Deledio, a servicable tall in Vickery, while adding a genuine plodder in Caddy and Prestia who is good.

Their top end is excellent, but there is very little underneath that. I don't really see where their improvement comes from. There was a decent gap between the two of us last season and I don't think Richmond will improve enough, or we'll drop enough for them to make up that gap.

Collingwood should be bottom end of the 8 or just outside.

Will Metro trains ever run on time? Impossible to make the call, all three will have early finishes to season 2017.

The answer to that age old question is to realign yours and everyone else's thinking...the trains don't run to a schedule. Rather the schedule is pulled together at the end of the day once the trains have run for that day. 100% hit rate re: run to schedule.

That would normally cost 3-6 months in consulting time but for BF, a freebie on a Friday arvo.
