Who here sits on Level 2?

Around Aisle 27/28 there was a guy there today with a drum really getting the crowd in that section going. It's a massive drum and I assumed he would have received approval to bring it into the stadium and use it. It was great and something we need more of. Is he there every home game?

During the 4th quarter security stepped in and I assume said the drum is off limits to the disagreement of the crowd in that area. Not sure what the issue with the drum was but I'll be disappointed if it doesn't continue.

Met a dogs fan who hadn't been to a game since the 97' prelim. Similar to my dad not going back after Melbourne lost a prelim to the hawks after the siren with a bullshit 15m penalty.

Glad I was only 5 in '97.

I was there and understand his pain. I remember smashing my transistor at the end of the game. but i kept going to games, always hopeful. remember a massive loss to freo when Rhode was coach. I rang 3AW and said that if he was still coach i would not take a membership. sorry peter, but it had to be done. a couple of weeks later i was sent a questionnaire like all members about how i felt about the club. then eade came on board. watched how the umpies robbed us the game against the saints by gifting free kicks to the saints. But I was always hopeful...
Hence, I was so happy to be at the GF watching a historic premiership. One more reason for me to watch endless replays of all of the finals. One more reason to be hopeful for back to backs. great, coach/es and great list. we are not plastic, but still the real deal. what does not kill you makes you stronger. GO DOGS!!! GO MURPHY!!!!

Clay not so much but not poor enough to warrant any real criticism.
I'd certainly imagine they will both play next week.

Wood was one of the main culprits in defence during the first half IMO. Wood, Biggs and JJ were bloody awful in patches with Wood for most of it

That's what it was about? Was L2 under Bev and kept hearing a comotion/then applause. Tbought some dickhead was causing a ruckus. Thought the drum sounded great.

It was great while it lasted. We actually made some noise

I recall the first time I saw Zordy in a very lose practice match during his first pre-season, although he was built like a reed that had been sliced in half but his positioning, willingness to go hard at the ball and marking was there for all to see. Its taken a little while and although he still has that weird but strangely effective kicking action today was probably the first time that I have seen him put it all together like he did way back then. Macrae, Dahl and a few other senior players were all at their usual superb standard, but Zordy's performance was the highlight of the afternoon for mine.

Our shite kicking made Brisbane look much better than they really were. 44 shots to 20.

We're not playing well, it's nice that we are consistently winning tight games/games where we're behind for the better part of the game. Very hawthorn. Very hawthorn to have all the umpires on our side too.

Not so much about the game, but is anyone else in sections 28-30 level 2 and saw security harass our section's big cheerleader? The guy brings an enormous positive vibe to the atmosphere of the game and is always positive. Leads chants after every goals, sometimes accompanied by a drum, and he often tosses cadbury lollies to the kids and is always positive and doesn't hurl abuse. WTF Etihad. Came up to him on 3 separate occasions (three different security people) to give him grief and pulled him out at a couple of stages. When I left they were waiting for him outside of the stands. Told em to leave the guy be but they ignored me.

The whole thing just put a big sour note on an otherwise brilliant comeback by the boys after half time.

Sorry mate, didn't see your post before posting mine. Agree totally. And he's brought the drum on numerous occasions. Don't know why it's an issue now.

And yeah, he's there every home game and makes the games better win or lose.

I have seats in aisle 30 so I was right next to it. I love the atmosphere the large drum creates. He has been doing that since last year, so I’m not sure why the issue was only brought to his attention today?
