Or gaming systems to get bonus points for difficulty - typical example is a kid with maths talent doing double math physics chemistry and taking uni maths as an extra; the uni maths even gave us a heads up on what the upcoming assessment tasks for the other maths would be (we just had 2 hours to solve not 2 weeks); use the maths for a lot of the physics as well, So only really end up studying maths, a little physics and the chemistry. And get rewarded for "difficulty" compared to the humanities student who does english, single math, history, geography, a language and drama - 6 separate subjects with no overlap - and get penalised for "easy subjects"

This was exactly me ha ha, the three maths you mention, physics which is mainly maths anyway, English and a few others to **** around in. Didn't blitz but beat a mate who pretty much got all A+ in humanities subjects, he was mad.

Been a while since I did high school maths but when it was called Maths in Practice, Foundations of Maths, Applicable Maths and Calculus it wasn't just 4 versions of the same thing with each slightly harder. IIRC Maths in Practice was vege maths (sic), Foundations was for people who didn't want to do TEE maths, Applicable was the harder TEE maths and Calculus was the nerd maths which you couldn't do unless you did Applicable plus also Intro Calculus the year before.

Far more tactile & hands-on.....Nothing wrong with the old bean-counter, where you can actually see where you've gone wrong....Maths lost the plot thereafter.

I loved geography. One of my favourite subjects.

I don't think so. I learnt this stuff in yr8, so it's pretty ingrained into my memory.

The worst thing in the history of numbers.

We spent a few weeks on it IIRC, it was year 9. I failed the test miserably.

And yeah geography was great.
