HAWTHORN’S high-priced recruit Jaeger O’Meara has declared he will be fit to play after the club’s bye in three weeks.
So copy from a HUN article is now a quote from the club.

Bloody hell, you're struggling.

no mate, that's not what I said either.

You are delusional because according to you, the club can do no wrong.
I have never said the club can do no wrong.

I have said the club has done the right thing, which seems to offend you.

I think alarm bells would be going off quite loud now, with Clarkson coming out the other day saying everytime they try to ramp up his training load to 100% he has a setback or isn't able to train at heavier load.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that out of all the professional athletes to have this injury only one has ever made a successful comeback?

Did you read that on Bigfooty?

WEIRDLY enough the only thing I read on BF which intrigued me about Jaegar's injury was something written by Ancient Tiger on our board. But I just read he trained today without knee strapping

Seriously, if Jaegar ends up playing a whole bunch of games this year some people have got WAAAY too excited about a player with an injury.

Please come back here to post when and if that happens and PLEASE don't feel afraid of the egg on your face

So they've just got Free Agency where they are offering cash just like every other club in the AFL, but now from 2nd bottom on the ladder. That'll work well.

Take money and play for a club that had tasted recent premiership success
Take money and play for a club that showed lack of care for their players which also saw them serve suspensions as a result

By dingo I know which club I would want to play for and it's not the one with ASADA/WADA issues!

No one can accuse Hawthorn of treating its players like shit basically

Is this the "What Abasi thinks Hawthorn has done wrong" thread...

Seems like a "worthy" rabbit warren of meaninglessness to me
it's a fair question isn't it?

It's all very well to say that you've never said Hawthorn can do no wrong. But if you have never actually criticised the club for anything, ever, then that's your meaningless right there

Well given that you and Lance are such painful pedants, and I appreciate pendantry, I will say that technically Simpkin was a de-listed Free Agent....
Thanks Einstein.

What has the club done wrong in your opinion ?
Plenty, including hiring a CEO who failed, almost hiring a goon as opposition analyst this year....plenty, but that's not the point, and you won't see me criticizing the club on the mainboard, because it serves absolutely no purpose.

The thing you seem to find so hard to take is that I refuse to jump to conclusions in June and make a call on the trade period of 2016, when anyone with half a brain would be doing similar.

Instead, as bigfooty does, the thread is full of windbags drawing their conclusions right know, saying Hawthorn can't do this, and won't do that....mainly because they want it so bad.

As I said earlier in the thread it's the equivalent to a "who won the draft" thread, created the night of the draft.

I'll cheerfully admit I want it so bad!

Edit: Hawthorn failing, not JOM. Despite it all I would love him to get a good crack at it. Footy would be better for it

Doesn't seem that there is much left we are allowed to discuss, if we cant speculate on the merits of decisions and whether they seem astute or not. Especially when Hawthorn made some very big calls in the summer.

Last time I checked this was a forum of opinions, just a bit sad that yours are so predictably club driven.

Doesn't allow for any interesting debate, quite boring and stale actually.

In any case carry on, and enjoy the season .

I never said you can't discuss it. Do what you like.

Just stop whinging that I don't agree with your overly negative and hasty viewpoint.
