Should the draft be before the trade period.
. So much more interest in a shallow draft than this round in cicles talkfest

Will be playing at Melbourne or Casey they are obviously asking for way to much for a player they want out :drunk:

Demons have handled this well. Bag the bloke on multiple occasions but still want high pick afterwards.

I wonder what Ports $$$ offer is for am and what he is on at Melbourne. Is he being overpaid and Geelong/Swans don't want to touch the contract as opposed to what Melbourne want for him??

i don't mind watts as a player but his lack of competitiveness worries me. I wouldn't give up a second rounder for him. I don't think he fits into our forward line if reid and rohan are playing and he isn't hard enough to be a defender. we'd have to play him on a wing.

When he's on song he is a joy to watch but when he isn't he is frustrating.

Given he's the 2nd best player in the comp for inside 50 delivery, playing him on our wing would be just about perfect. Seems his stats on pressure acts is really good too. A very big boost to our best 22 if we could afford him. Seems the only way we could is to trade out a big salary for a draft pick - and we won't ever commit that kind of sacrilege apparently. I can see why from a culture perspective - but it makes for a boring and slightly frustrating off season.

My dream off-season: Out Hanners, and whatever reserve the Pies wanted: IN Davies Uniacke (or Cerra) - plus Watts and Sam Gibson, and a late pick next year from the pies to help get us points.

Maybe I should buy and AFL video game, do they have trading? I'll report back when I've won the flag next year with those changes. :D

Well done to young Nick Blakey
The AFL has today released its Level Two squad of the 2017-2018 NAB AFL Academy, as part of its twenty-first intake into the program.
Two players from the New South Wales and ACT region have been selected including Nick Blakey from the Sydney Swans Academy and Matthew Walker of the GIANTS Academy.

Hopefully for the 2018 draft and Nick selects Sydney Swans

I doubt we are going to get him as North Melbourne are going to say "pick us and we will give you a $500,000 a year contract for 3 years straight away" and there is no way the Swans are going to be able to match that sort of money.

Hi all, just a quick one, any truth that Tippett crosses the ANZAC bridge to Homebush if you guys get Watts with you guys picking up the tab? Heard that on SEN yesterday afternoon and don't mind the thought of it if it eventuates. Cheers.
I think you'll find that if Tippett is going to be any good going forward, it will be for the Swans, I was listening to Neil Cordy on SEN & Mark Allen & Schwartz were desperately trying to have him offloaded with us having to pay his salary until retirement but Cordy told them that Tippo wanteed to finish his career off at the Swans so when in AA form in 2016 he signed an extension with a significant pay cut until 2020..

Now I heard that from Harley early this year too

I would trade our son to be pick 33 for poppy for year or 2 knowing this draft isn't much
He defencive pressure is good and has more impact than Rohan at times

Puopolo wouldn't cope at our club with the umpiring we get

Don't need to. North must be struggling to pay 95% of the cap. They will offer him big bucks to go. We can't match.
