I posted once before about this comment from Chris Connolly on SEN a while back where he singled us out for letting Tommy go
Connolly told SEN radio it was an “incredible” mistake to let a player entering his prime leave your club.

This is a club that pinches all of the best players from clubs around the country and has done it quite successfully over a long period of time. How on earth did they let this homegrown son of a champion walk out of the club?” he told SEN’s Hungry For Sport.

Now this from the AFL site.

Might as well do it now tbh. I have no faith in us winning against them as long as Clarkson is there.

Or more precisely, as long as Longmire is still coaching the Swans and Clarkson the Hawks as Longmireis a tactical simpleton against Clarkson. Is beaten in the coaching box pretty much every single time.

Yep, that one straight kick they beat us by in both the games this season made Longmire look like a real numpty

If we lose to ******* Hawthorn by less than a kick again in 2018 I might actually just quit following football.
I have puppies ordered for pickup the night before those games.

And new boots.

Just saying.

Victorians may deny it, but this is why the Swans are good for the competition, and bring in way more than we take out (unlike 4 or 5 clubs in Melbourne)

2 – Round 22 – Adelaide v Sydney – 1.393 million
As the Swans continued their remarkable resurgence, they clinched a three-point win over the Crows on the road at Adelaide Oval. The win propelled the Swans into the top four after their shocking start to the year, and had some tipping this as a possible preview to the Grand Final.

5 – Round 19 – Hawthorn v Sydney – 1.240 million
Fierce, spiteful, thrilling – just some of the adjectives used to describe this match between these modern rivals. A six-point victory kept the Hawks' finals hopes alive for another week and put a halt on the Swans' quest for a top-four finish.

7 – Round three – Sydney v Collingwood – 1.239 million
Both teams were winless going into this one, and with speculation about Nathan Buckley's future already gaining momentum, there was a huge build-up to the SCG encounter. An amazing finish saw a clutch goal from new Pie Will Hoskin-Elliott and then second-gamer Swan Nic Newman put the home side within a point, leading to a breathtaking final two minutes and 49 seconds, where the Pies would hold on.

8 – Round 10 – Sydney v Hawthorn – 1.197 million
Featuring in the top 10 for the second time, this was actually the first of two meetings between the Hawks and Swans this season, and the margin was the same. The Hawks won by six points thanks to late goals from Shaun Burgoyne and captain Jarryd Roughead.

9 – Round 14 – Sydney v Essendon – 1.194 million
Propelling the Swans into the top eight for the first time in 2017, they scored the last 20 points of the game in the space of eight minutes to win by just a point. Essendon fans were on the edge of their seats as the game slipped from their hands when Gary Rohan kicked the winning goal after the siren.

So of the top 10 rated Home and Away games in 2017, 5 of them involved the Swans, another 1 involved GWS so 60% of the top 10 rated AFL games in the 2017 season involved Sydney based teams.

Hawks underperformed this year. No shame in two narrow losses to them as their best was easily still top 8. What pisses me off is how we just s**t the bed against them from the first ******* bounce. In such obvious ways, like missing the easiest of tackles and fumbling simple skills. They don’t even have to do muchto make us rattled. IMO it’s all mental and doesn’t have a whole lot to do with Longmire and Clarkson. Every game generally follows the same script... Hawks look the better side in the first half, then we finally get over our nerves to get ourselves back in the game around the third quarter, then we s**t the bed late in the game once we realise we’ve actually made a contest of it. So predictable and so boring really. For the two teams who have been head and shoulders above the rest for the last five years, we make each other play pretty crap ugly football.

It’s a shame the AFL have elected not to invest in a Swans v Crows rivalry. They have been high quality games over the past year or so

Cal Twomey the weasel has started his campaign to make Sydney pay overs for Blakey early. Typical Essendon supporting ******.
It is pretty much impossible for us to pay overs for him. We get a 20% discount.
