I agree. A miracle - it felt like he deteriorated quite rapidly but then it stopped and froze in time for decades. It is amazing he lived as long as he did with that condition.
Terrible news. It looks like i might be the world's smartest Stephen now. In honour of him I will carry the general theory of relativity and solve this multiverse conundrum. Purely for selfish reasons because I'm sure North Melbourne were 2017 premiers on another planet. Once i track those players down I'll bring them back with me. Not Goldstein - i don't think he has toughness on any planet he plays on.Oh shit. RIP Stephen Hawking.
Stephen Hawking.

I believe the diagnosis to fatality time frame for ALS/MND is something like 3-5 years.
The guy was not expected to live past his 25th birthday.
Instead he goes on and becomes one of the worlds most renowned physicists and scientists and will go down as one of the big names in science history. From his studies on gravitation to his theories on black holes to his work on string theory, he's done a hell of a lot for the scientific field.
Vale Hawking, an incredible man.
Reckon he will be posthumously knighted? He refused the honour in life
Yeah. There's those out there who believe he passed away years ago and was replaced with an actor.
I shit you not.

I am not young and I read today that Hawking was given two years to live the year I was born. Amazing. It's absolutely incredible he lived as long as he did.

Just sayin'
My kids go on the same trains and trams as lots of Trinity boys to a nearby school. A colleague with a kid at the same nearby school and I were having a chuckle today that finally it was a school other than ours in all the news and imploding. The amount of coverage this is getting is wild. Maybe this is more about me (a fellow public pleb), but I honestly have not met a single person who cares.

Other than that, I’m as mystified as you are.

"The woman was a bit younger than him, he said, but 'wasn't a good sort'."
