Appendicitis
Ok you got me..
For how long?Ok you got me..
The point I was making, was if you have an option between conservative management and surgery, you'd be wanting the conservative measures first before jumping onto surgery.

And you're thinking an ACL tear and an appendicitis is in a similar vein to an osteitis pubis, needing urgent surgery?Appendicitis
The information regarding Brad from the AFC has been upfront and accurate.
At the start of the pre-season it was stated that Brad would have a modified program due to groin issues he suffered in 2017. This was not obvious because he played 19 of the last 20 games last year and was one of our best performers in the finals. After his set back it was mentioned that the situation was similar to The SEED and after a lot of frustration (The SEED contemplated retirement last year), The SEED now seems to have resolved the problem (fingers crossed) without surgery.
The story from the club has always been that we expect to resolve the problem in the near future but the underlying message was we “hope” to solve the problem but we don’t know how long it will take. Collingwood eventually gave up on The SEED and trade him for a packet of peanuts.
It is the same story with Sloane. The initial diagnosis was that he had a minor foot strain and he/we chose to play through the pain. With the benefit of hindsight, not a good decision. He and the club were confident that he would play the showdown until he injured the foot again in an innocuous handball drill. He is now in a similar position to Brad. We have not put a timeframe on when he will return, we have said we will let it settle down and re-assess the situation in two weeks. Reading betwen the lines, the best hope scenario will be a return to the AFL in 6-8 weeks IMHO.
I’m taking the pissAnd you're thinking an ACL tear and an appendicitis is in a similar vein to an osteitis pubis, needing urgent surgery?
Are you being for real dude?
It depends on the type of injury and where it is. Also depends on whether resting is actually improving the outcome. Regarding Brad, he's been rested many times with good recovery in the past few years, why then should we jump to surgery in the preseason with Brad? For how long?
ACL
(I wonder if rest, medicines were considered first with Smiths injury)
Wtf?!
Surely we should be able to manage him properly by now.
Should be on a specialised program.
Reihning premiers have beaten nobody this year. Very soft draw so farThis is not an even year at the top. The reigning premiers are purring and at this rate will play all the finals at their home ground.
Which part?wrong.
Should have traded him end of 2016 instead of overpaying him for another 4 years. It was clear then, and it's even clearer now - could have gotten a first round pick off of Hawthorn for him then, he's not worth anything at all now.
This post is the only thing that reassures me everything will be alright in the endShould have traded him end of 2016 instead of overpaying him for another 4 years. It was clear then, and it's even clearer now - could have gotten a first round pick off of Hawthorn for him then, he's not worth anything at all now.
Chances of retaining Matt with his brother in Victoria? 0.0
Do our fitness staff handle medical issues? Or do our docs?Do our fitness staff even have a first aid certificate?
Shoosh. That won’t make the naysayers happy. Doesn’t fit into their “they’re all incompetent” melts. The information regarding Brad from the AFC has been upfront and accurate.

Our fitness staff create medical issues by the looks of it.Do our fitness staff handle medical issues? Or do our docs?
This thread has just given u licence to once again bag a crouch. For whatever reason you s**t on them at any opportunity but u do a Marty and go awol when your opinions are embarrassingly shot down - M Crouch 2017 AA.He's not that special, and any professional athlete soft enough to leave because their sibling was cut or traded isn't worth the time anyway.
This club lacks the ruthlessness necessary to win, and it applies to the repeated, sunk cost tainted decision making over Brad Crouch - even if you don't believe the repeated rumours about his lack of professionalism - as much as it applies to the likes of Mackay, Atkins, and anyone else people would care to mention.
He's now in his 6th season, having played just 61 career games, is not projected to add to that tally this season, and hasn't played a game that matches his salary or internal rating since 2014 against Hawthorn, or if you want to be super generous a 130 point thrashing of a hapless Brisbane in 2016. At the end of 2016 we had an opportunity to sell him, and a buyer willing to pay a first round pick for damaged goods - we made the wrong decision.
