I reckon if we see the club announce Casboult as not being offered anither contract, it all but confirms McGovern is a lock.

Blueing you have stated it as fact that Gaff will be at Carlton.
How is this going to happen?
Can you expand on it.

Which is why they'd give him options of clubs. You really think they'll let him walk to Richmond on $700k for their first rounder?
If there is any truth to it this sort of talk would already be happening behind the scenes and they would know what they'll pretty much get before they told him to look around

Casboult contracted for next year
Casboult is contracted for 2019
I’m totally with you, just can’t handle them infesting our board again.Let them want it.
They wanted to give 13 and a hack player for Gibbs, Kane Cornes even stressed what a good deal that was, but we all know how that ended up.
Stay strong guys. The days of Rogers and Hughes getting their pants pulled down in trades are well and truly over.
So adding an MVP to a 73 win team is your idea of the right way? It’s exactly what Richmond are doing with Lynch. They didn’t need Durant to win, they just needed him not on other certain teams to dilute the competition.
And Boogie? More good management I suppose? It’s a sham and so is Steve Kerr.
Your Lakers hit the jackpot because the best player in basketball wanted to be in LA. That’s good luck, not good management.
I harken back to the 11 years ago point, a lot has changed. Also, we gave up plenty for Juddy. Certainly see your point thoughWe only won four games in the year before Judd joined us...
Alas, he immediately disappears into the dark and vast expanse of Avondale Heights.

Worried? Far from. Just annoyed.Worried about Adelaide posters shitting up the list management threads? Pfft, try living through the 2015 Yarran trade.

If we can land Setterfield, McGovern and Walsh I'd be pretty happy. Still leaves our 2019 midfield a bit shallow though.
Versatile duo Mitch McGovern and Andy Otten will both undergo post-season surgery in coming days.
McGovern requires a minor arthroscopic procedure on both ankles, while Otten will have surgery to alleviate an Achilles issue which has troubled him in the second half of the year. Both players are expected to make a quick recovery.
Yeah, I think you just need to apply common sense to the many rumours that are suggested at this time of year. All the talk is that Gaff either stays or goes to North. As you suggested, you would think Hawthorn and Melbourne will give him a good shot too. Every day that goes by it looks more and more like Gaff is on the move.Shit. Sorry for posting in the wrong thread. Oops.
I don't see Gaff to Carlton for 2 reasons
1. Non-finalists such as St. Kilda, North, and Essendon will throw the farm at a guy like Gaff. Much more than SOS will who has a more patient long-term approach (building a premiership team rather than one that challenges for finals)
2. Finalists like Hawthorn and Melbourne who would offer similar coin to Carlton are a lot more appealing.
I'll believe it when I see it though I wouldn't be against it.
Simpson & Rowe have re signed?
I know, that's what I'm saying. You seem to think they are going to accept unders because he has nominated a team. Without giving up pick 1 we don't have anything that would be a fair price for him that's why I said they would give him options of clubs a,b and c because they would know what they would pay for him otherwise they tell him he is stayingThey. Can't. Trade. Him. To. A. Club. He. Doesn't. Want. To. Go. To.
They tell Dylan they want to trade him this year.
His manager canvases clubs for contracts.
Dylan decides where he'd like to play (based on dollars, years, sentiment, success, whatever).
Dylan nominates a club.
GWS deal with that club for the best deal they can get.
If they can't reach a satisfactory agreement, Dylan stays on and leaves as a free agent (likely to that same club) next year.
You can't try to oust a contracted player and then haggle over which club is prepared to offer a better draft pick in return.
Surely you dont believe what players who are about to embark on a finals series say in media regarding their intentions going forward ?You're not listening
He has already said he plans on staying, has no intention of leaving, and the only way he does is if GWS want to offload him early.
So either GWS want to get rid of him, in which case he nominates a club and they deal fairly because they're the ones being helped - or he stays.
