Well Crocker is contracted so they can't just delist him. Crocker may well get delisted next year but that's not just "being tough on McLarty," that's when the contracts expire.

Massive Mistake.

McLarty is way better then Crocker

Seems to be the word.

Reckon it’s tough on him when spuds like Crocker are still on the list.

Weird decision if true.

But pick 18 is an unknown player, as is the second round pick next year.

We have a known player and we know what we are giving up. You can't have it both ways.

Yeah I'll tell you what is known. He's probably got 1 year left at elite, 1 year of good-very good and hopefully a 3rd year that is battling. That's the likely senario.

He's also more likely to miss periods with soft tissue injuries as he approaches and passes 30yrs.

We also know that Brisbane need to get this trade done asap because they have promised Neale they will get it done.

We don't need to give in.

Rumours circulating that the Monopoly Deal has got even more crazy!

Gold Coast
Gain: T Phillips, Coll 2019 First
Lose: S May

Collingwood
Gain: D Beams, S May, 11
Lose: 18, 2019 First, T Phillips, J Thomas

Melbourne
Gain: 5, 18
Lose: J Hogan

Fremantle
Gain: J Hogan
Lose: L Neale, 11

Brisbane
Gain: L Neale, J Thomas
Lose: D Beams, 5

Then we chase Jack Lonie as small forward depth

Couldn't fit Bruce in the trade?

From reading all the reports it makes mention that where not too keen on giving up 2 firsts, so I hope to hell this is true and we don't as we see Beams as a bonus and not a need.

Suns & Lions lose there and the Pies make out like bandits. No chance.

quick get it done before someone changes their mind.

The only thing that will cause up to pay massive overs for Beams is if the Lions and Dockers can orchestrate a move on Neale that cuts our pick 18 out of the equation.

Can't see that happening myself but if they did then we should be straight on the phone to Stephen May and see if we can tempt the Suns with 2 x firsts (2018 and 2019) with some nice picks coming back. Let Beams go if the price is too high (2 firsts and nothing back). Lions can deal with his apparent "Bulltish" for another year or two.

You do realise that knowing an outcome is more likely than another is not some magical gift of fortune tellers?

There is endless evidence that elite players usually pass their peak around 30. If you want to believe Beams is the exception to the rule, so be it.

The point is that you don't really know what's going to happen. It's an unknown at this stage how his body will go. Yes he will have less impact over time.

You can only properly judge a trade retrospectively.

The club literally just released social media material with Josh Thomas saying he was really happy to sign for 3 years and have stability at the club.

He's not leaving.
