G ( Polly ) is numero uno, by a 20 metre handball.

Cabes is then number 2, the rest follow.

TI and Maurice played together, worth the money just for that. TI shaded Maurice >>>>> Basil & Benny.

Jimmy Krakouer, for actual output, Nicky Elvis blows him away.

If Jim played today, with the improved protection from abuse, he'd be a top five player in the comp.

Won his own ball, brilliant at setting others up, kicked plenty of his own.

I cant comment pre 1990. From what I have seen though.
1. Goodes - The guy could play anywhere and do anything, absolutely amazing footballer and I think judged a little harshly at the end of his career.
2. Franklin - Second only to Goodes, not quite the flexibility of Goodes and could go past Goodes. Just a freak, love him.
3/4. McLeod - Fantastic four square player, could be used as a defensive back pocket/rebounding defender to a midfielder/forward flanker. Sublime skills.
3/4. Wanganen - Splitting hairs with McLeod and Wanganeen so much courage and skill.

Past here becomes a bit of a crapshoot for me but these guys above stick in my mind as a pretty definitive top 4. Burgers/Wirra/Long in any order next maybe, then the next rung down.

McLeod at number ONE
Two Grand Finals - both in the underdog team; both played interstate against Victorian opponents - for two wins and TWO NORM SMITH MEDALS!!!!!
Polly at 2; Cable at three.

Nathan Buckley & Chris Judd both won Norm Smith’s in a losing side.

Yes forgot about them.Whats the story with Norm McDonald ,what position was he?
Brilliant multi premiership winning half back flanker for Essendon in the 1940’s & 1950’s. Great player when basically no Indigenous were playing.
He won the Essendon B&F in 1951 over Coleman, Reynolds & Hutchinson.
A paratrooper in World War 2, he was also 2nd in the Stawell Gift as a pro sprinter. upload_2018-12-12_23-6-46.jpeg

I noticed you left out Maurice Rioli in your top 15.Norm Smith and 2 Simpson medals for South Freo, a grand final specialist they call Mr Magic, also beat a young brash Mark Jacko Jackson in the boxing ring .A highly skilled tackling machine ahead of his time!

Maurice Rioli was actually a three time Simpson medallist, he won his third in 1983 versus Victoria!

I saw Maurice Rioli play on many occasions. A really good player without a doubt. Yes very fair, tough and skilled. I just can’t quite put him in the same bracket as quite a few other indigenous players.
Can’t have him over Farmer, Cable, Franklin, Goodes, McLeod, Wanganeen, Matera, Burgoyne etc. They’ve all just had better careers than Maurice.

I would respectfully disagree.I can see Cable or Franklin ahead but he's more skilled than the others.
