After a quick return home, we head back up to our home away from home, Metricon Stadium, Gold Coast!

This time we take on the in form GWS Giants who had a convincing win over Hawthorn last week. Their forward line is a huge concern with Cameron, Himmelberg and Finlayson all threats, then there's Davis and Haynes down back. Those two had a combined total of 23 marks the last time we met, which was a one point win to the Giants. Considering how badly Port's defence was shown up last week by Brisbane, we'll need to find something else to contain GWS.

Port Adelaide have a lot to learn from that loss last year. IIRC, Dixon had been omitted the previous week and we still didn't bring in Marshall.

Ryan Burton could be a handy return for the Power this week as we look to remain on top and get our first win over GWS since 2015.

Simple, MUST WIN GAME.

Last week was our first big best and we failed quite poorly, we must correct that this week and Win.

What did the coaches learn from last week ? Thats the first test.

Selections will be very telling, and will predict our chances of success in both this game and season. Make the mistake of dropping talls after a loss like the coaches have in previous seasons, and GWS will kill us in the air. Go in with too many slow mids, and they'll run rings around our midfield. I'd then be tempted to bet that we don't make finals this year, as the coaches have made the same mistakes at the same time in previous seasons.

I think we're going to make some mistakes at the selection table. GWS by 29. Prove me wrong Ken. Prove that you've learned something.

If GWS are at anywhere near their best they'll wipe the floor with us. Far more talent all over the ground.
Besides, we've already delivered our fleeting hint of false hope - it's time to lose form and slide back into our customary mediocrity.
GWS by 6+ goals.

Yes I've been scarred.

High hopes. 1 rouge vino and a vine win. Mitch G to break back in and break it back open. We need more dynamism and aerial spread across the ground which MG will deliver with his athleticism and daring. Far too many brisbears showed us up holding their position, their faith in their teamates and structure, and their hands up forcing marking opps and contests for teammates to manically run onto. Seemed to be too many of our players out of position and unsure of their role, unable to impact.

Our season's still on track, but are our selections? Get these right and give em a kick up the arse! Go ports!

Comfortable win to GWS. In form, talent all over park, this time we face them with less injuries and mental advantage over us. It will take a month (if we are lucky) before our selections filter out our known weaknesses with some of senior players. Some supporters understandably believe we were learn from last week's midfield annihilation in Q2. But as history shows under Ken and our mental fragility, we don't recover well when our confidence is banished. Just don't see us winning this
