A fair bit of talk around that the offer won't meet band one compensation, more likely to be end of first round.

THis is good. I hope Brisbane fork over picks 18 & 19.

.

Saad & pick ~24 (2021) for pick 7 (2020) puts Saad at around pick 18-19. That's fair trade value.

The scum won't give a fu** about what benefits Carlton, nor should they. Afaic this trade is already agreed upon, and that means pick 7 is involved directly in the trade. We shall have to wait & see what eventuates.

If 18-19 is fair, then 27 + future second is fair compensation. Cashing in pick 7 for an 18-19 type player is insanity.

Already agreed on? By whom? They should be drug tested.

Hmmmm, the contract offer from Brisbane must not guarantee top end round 1 compo.

What's the odds that the AFL does the right thing by Brisbane and give thr scum band 1 compo? We'll know it's corrupted if the scum let him go and then pick 7 magically drops in their lap.

Oooooo.......imagine more Qldander's coming through the gates to watch the defending premiers with a free kick count of 52 - 7 with Daniher in their side.

Make it happen Gil.

Gee.....I wonder what will happen. #CorruptFL.

1) Yes
2) Carlton & scum

Let's wait & see where the cards fall.

Okay, pick 16 will probably end up as

What? Why would it be corrupted? The Brion's will simply offer Daniher enough money to ensure * get pick 7 and save themselves the heartache of trading with Dodo. They're lucky Joe is only 26, the magic beans formula goes downhill pretty steeply from 27 on. Which is why we'll get bugger all for BBB if he stays on one year then leaves as an RFA.

Need the trade scenario with JD. These bloody FA compo picks giving me the irits.

Don't think blues should handover 7 at all. Split it just to spite * and send them a 12 to 18 pick on its own.

The scum will play hard ball, and Carlton will fork over in a pick swap scenario.

They forked over 13 in pick swaps for McGovern. The scum hold the whip hand here. Why would they accommodate Carlton?

The exact same thing was being said last season about Freo when Saints were after Hill, wanting pick 6 in exchange and as soon as the trade week started Saints went out and swapped it for 12 and 18.

If 7 doesn't exist any more then Essendon can't have it.

The media release seemed a little too organized to me.

Saints learned from that time they wound up paying #5 for Carlisle - I’m assuming * will be thinking they can do that again and win trade week, but I doubt anyone will leave themselves in that spot again.

Bombers may match Lions' offer to Daniher

Any incentives in the deal Brisbane Lions put to Joe Daniher will not count towards the compensation Essendon will receive, making it more likely the Bombers will match the Lions' offer for the restricted free agent to force a trade.

Daniher on Wednesday became the second player in two days to walk out of the Bombers, after dashing defender Adam Saad asked to be traded to Carlton.

The AFL has confirmed to The Age that only "guaranteed money" will be considered when the league computes what a club shall be given as compensation for a departing free agent.

Sources close to the Daniher deal believe the Lions are planning to offer Daniher a base rate of less than what he's earning in his final year at Essendon - more than $700,000 - due to his recent injury history.

That deal, however, could increase depending on how many games Daniher plays and how many goals he kicks.
The Lions may consider changing their offer to avoid having to negotiate a trade with the Bombers.

I think even you Tef, with your cynical attitude to the football media, may be underestimating how much AFL house has made decision with impunity over the last 10-15 years.

I do have some cynicism about them, but I also believe some folks tend to run too far with it also.

One minute they're looking after a growth market franchise & the next it turns in to they're relocating North to Tasmania.

Be funny if they did split that 7 with Geelong but the blues would lose out then and can't risk psd.... personally think they will just bite the bullet...
