Remember when we were sh*t and the only highlight we had was winning draft night only to find out they were sh*t... Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls remembers
Our recruiting method back in the day.:drunk:

Sliding doors moment though, would've taken up pick 29 and 53 to match the bid.

No Shai Bolton or Jack Graham if we match :O
Think it turned out ok.lol

The correct way to analyse the list is to actually put our players into the roles they play. This should apply to youngsters as well. A good example is Nyuon, he played most of his footy as a defender yet we have him listed as a ruckman. Simply ask what is or has been their primary role and place them there.

If we talk talls and general defenders and forwards then imo we should place each player in the following category. * = have not done a lot to date.

KPD - Astbury - Balta - Miller* - Nyuon*
Tall Def - Grimes - Broad - Garthwaite*.
Med Def - Vlastuin.
Sml Def - Houli - Short - Baker - Naish*.

KPF - Riewoldt - Lynch - Chol*.
Tall Fwd - Nil.
Med Fwd - Cumberland*.
Sml Fwd - Rioli - Castagna - Aarts*.

Rucks - Nankervis - Soldo - CCJ

I whole heartedly disagree with that.

Especially our side that has its own system and we have a number of players that are versatile and rely on other versatility to maximise team output and productivity.

So looking at Dusty I see him as mid and forward with an emphasis on forward as he enters his later years like stars of the past.

The reason Balta is extra effective is he can play multiple roles, likewise Shai and a number of others. Even Astbury is more effective by chipping in and rucking and opens so many more options for us as a result. Its a team game about team performance so versatility becomes important

O’deiscoll seems like the type of player we love going by the write up

20. Richmond - Nathan O'Driscoll
Height, Weight:
189cm, 78kg
Profile: Playing WAFL League football this year for Perth, O'Driscoll has shown the capacity to play inside, outside or on a back flank. O'Driscoll attacks the ball aggressively, tackles to hurt, demonstrates a high work rate, provides outside run and carry and has a penetrating kick.

Linked to the Bummers. Let's hope if it happens, that he turns out like the last bloke that went there after doing a dodgy in the draft (Kavanagh).

I laughed a lot when he turned out to be a complete spud.

I don’t think Perkins makes it. Doesn’t seem to have the mentality to grind out a career.
