Yeah I'm starting to think that we are going to be locked down again................

After seeing how much NSW has ****ed it up due to soft measures we will most likely get a snap lockdown if tomorrow isn’t good news.

So over it. I'm going to pack up and go home and work from there until the picture is clearer. There is totally nobody in the office other than me and about 3 other people - everyone is just staying away now rather than adhere to moment to moment announcements about different state office capacity, who wears masks indoors etc. I might actually go to the gym now before that gets shut again

But how does one of the wealthiest countries in the world lag so badly in vaccine acquisition/distribution?

We didn't protect the vulnerable, it ran through our aged care systems like wildfire, if we weren't an island seperate from the rest of the world you wouldn't be talking about us as a covid success story. On vaccines, our government are inept cheapskates who complained that Pfizer cost too much so they loaded all their cash on astrazeneca which was cheaper but ended up giving people blood clots, despite the odds being 1/100000, a mass panic formed and the govt kept changing the medical advice on taking it so people stopped wanting the AZ and wanted Pfizer. So now we have a shitload of AZ that nobody wants and we don't have enough Pfizer that people want.

Going by how NT Government refused to let in any AFL Clubs after the recent outbreak it looks likely to happen again

We had our first Community transmission 2 weeks ago and came out pretty lucky after 2 weeks of restrictions, Government won't let it happen again

Seems inevitable we're gonna have another lockdown, annoying to wait another 24 hours for it to officially start so infected people can run around in the community spreading their disease "before everything closes!" (like I did today).

Fingers and toes crossed, I've booked a trip to Adelaide for the end of the month... and I've already had to cancel a trip to Tasmania and a birthday party last month
