I had been pretty worried about losing him actually. He did a bunch of preseason over west and did personal training with I think Hayden Young and a few other wa players. I see now he's shacked up with a local Geelong girl though so I'm hoping he's sticking around.

Don't tack him onto some other trade though. It's disrespectful. Scratcher is the main event.

He's not coming in to ruck. He's coming in to replace Hawkins and chase ruck contests for maybe 20 minutes a game.

Hawkins is great but he's 34

100% need to make him a decent offer.

We'll have a bunch of retirees so cash shouldn't be a problem at all. Hawkins probably one of them so he's first Magnet on the board at CHF.

Especially with his ability to ruck and the age of Stanley, Ceglar, and Blitz, the kid is easily our most important 2023 signature

Adding Neale would not really work for us, because of our list. Not that he is worth a lot but worth a lot to us. Somewhat like Rory Lobb for you - who I don't rate at all - but I understand why he is valuable to Freo.

I feel like this is incredibly unlikely. Chris Scott has spoken about how much he rates him and as long as he stays fit he'll get lots of chances to prove his worth next year. I don't see why we would trade him for a nothing pick.

We only would if he pushes for it. He needs games and will struggle to get them next yr.

Bruhn has shown he can play at AFL level. Not sure about CS. All in front of both of them.

I think Geelong would be loathe to lose him, so clubs would probably need to overpay to get him while contracted. Anything is possible I guess.

Sure, but since he was drafted Geelong have brought in Bowes, Bruhn (in theory), drafted Knevitt and has pick 7 on the way, whilst still having Parfitt, Guthrie, Dangerfield, Atkins in front of him

Opportunity is going to be scarcer than it has been, and I wouldn't blame him for looking elsewhere for it.

Smith has a year left, Duncan, Danger, Guthrie probably three or four max if not injured. Bowes helps fill the 24-29 gap with Parfitt. Bruhn is part of the next group including Nevitt and Stephens, but could fill that hole in the 24-29 group. Geelong are very clear setting expectations with their long term plans.

Narkle, Simpson and Parfitt spent more time in the twos than Stephens has. Those younger blokes will get time in the ones, but unless they knock down the door like Holmes and De Koning then they will keep learning their trade alongside some of the best midfielders in the competition.

We don't want to trade Sav who has also done a long apprenticeship. So unless Stephens gets impatient and wants out, we won't be trading him.

I would say he is more agile and a better kick. Doubt he is better at the coalface though.

I think you'll find there's not much overlap if any on timeframe if any with Hawkins career and Neale being ready.

He's high potential and I think will be a gun but he's not going to be ready next year and Hawkins I don't think will be here the year after
