391,091. Only 4th best Round ever.

Next week could go higher

Carlton v Geelong - 70K
Brisbane v Dees -30K
Collingwood v Port - 55K
Crows v Tigers - 48K
Doggies v Saints - 35K
Dockers v North - 40K
Swans v Harks - 30K
Dons v Gold Coast - 40K
Eagles v Giants - 55K

Maybe some ambitious estimates there but the above would get it to the record.

You could chop about 5k off your estimate for most of those crowds.

Probably exaggerated a little by saying most but I reckon the West Coast game and and the Dockers game would be candiates. The Brisbane game I think will struggle for 30k as its up against a hyped local and 1st time NRL derby.

I thought the Lions game had already sold out?

Freo and West Coast's losses wouldn't help. Probably high 30s and low 50s

Carlton v Geelong - 70K. Ok
Brisbane v Dees -30K. 22k
Collingwood v Port - 55K. 51k
Crows v Tigers - 48K. 42k
Doggies v Saints - 35K. 31k
Dockers v North - 40K. 36k

Eagles v Giants - 55K. 46k.

My guesses

Be lucky to be over 40k for Adelaide. Our crowds have really struggled since the virus. Last year we didn’t have a single attendance over 40k. 35k would be a better estimate.

Collingwood has only ever gotten over 50k against Port once , and that was in 1997

No time like the present have a record breaking crowd

Intrigued about the crowd for Thursday night. Geelong fans won’t be turning up in full force due to being a weeknight. Wonder if Carlton fans are happy backing up two Thursday nights in a row. My guess is high 50’s if the weather holds up. If it was a Saturday afternoon, I would’ve expected another 10k at least and have a genuine chance of breaking the record between the two clubs of 71,399.

If there was any time for Port Adelaide to break their H&A crowd record, then this is the week. 53,698 is their record. 51,883 is their MCG record, set in their first ever match in Round 1, 1997. I hope for 54k.

Over estimating a lot of these crowds.
My prediction would be

Carlton v Geelong 65,000
Collingwood v Port 45,000
Brisbane v Melbourne 30,000
Crows V Richmond 40,000
Dogs V Saints 35,000
Freo v North 40,000
Swans v hawks 30,000
Essendon v GC 30,000
West Coast v Giants 45,000

It might draw around 60,000.. It would certainly draw 65,000+ in a Saturday slot.

Collingwood, Crows, Bombers and Eagles games will all draw at least 5K higher than those estimates.

Very confident of 380K plus

I don’t think it will be much over 50K…

2nd Thursday night in a row for blues with many just traditionally marking Round 1 as the superior.

Geelong fans won’t travel down the highway in big numbers two weeks in a row.

Can see a 55K ceiling. Just has a good Thursday night on the couch feel to it.

I’m thinking:

Carlton v Geelong 55,000
Collingwood v Port 55,000
Brisbane v Melbourne 30,000
Crows V Richmond 40,000
Dogs V Saints 32,000
Freo v North 38,000
Swans v hawks 30,000
Essendon v GC 35,000
West Coast v Giants 44,000

That said. If 30K I’d the floor, s**t the game is in god shape.

Collingwood got 40k against Port towards the end of last year when we were flying (week after our post siren win v Essendon), which was one of Port’s best ever crowds in Melbourne.

Not sure how that crowd is going to be beaten by 10k, as much as I’d love to see it. If we get near 50k for that there’ll be a few other records in trouble this season.

I'm tipping
Carlton v Geelong 65,000
Collingwood v Port 52,000
Brisbane v Melbourne 31,000
Crows V Richmond 44,000
Dogs V Saints 32,000
Freo v North 42,000
Swans v Hawks 32,000
Essendon v GC 35,000
West Coast v Giants 48,000

Total 339,000
