Yes there are plenty of options for the midfield. My point is sincs as a mid is better than all of them.
So much better than all of them infact; that I think we could have say coffield giving us 85% of his halfback output (while sincs played mid)- and we would be a better team

Well I don't believe moving the competitions best half back flanker away from that area full time is going to help us win a flag

There is no one on our list that I see getting close to matching his output back there

We're trying to win a flag- noting that all of crouch, sinclair, hill, steele, marshall, wilkie, ross, wood etc are all 27+

Developing guys like pou, owens, windy as mids comes secondary when you are trying to win a flag (in the next few years before all those guys are 30+).

Those kids can get a taste for mid action sure- but no way should we be making it a TOP priority.

If playing sincs as a fulltime mid means we are a better team overall now (especially when coffield comes back), then that needs to be the priority.

I don't think he's that much better that it would be worth moving him

We are the best side in the comp at moving the ball from defence to offence and he's the biggest reason for this

Is be amazed if Coffield could come in and get close to his output.

Port came from nowhere a couple years ago to almost make the granny off the back of some inspired kids - Rozee, Butters, Duursma.

Windy, Owens and Nas are those three for us. I can't see them getting dropped this year. Mattaes and Hammer - as many games as we can but they'll tire and hopefully it's around the same time Max and Steele are ready.

Bloody hell it would be incredible for Phillipou to hold his spot through the year on form though.

Agreed, perfectly balanced and went in at the correct time.

Loved rotating all of windy, owens and pou too. Gaining experience while winning is beautiful.

Stocker’s post match interview mentioned the deliberate strategy to rotate players through the midfield to run GC’s mids off their feet. I’d love to see what Ross is planning once our injury list is minimal and add some more through trade/draft.

A team offers us a first rounder for membrey? Can make a pretty good argument either way imo.

Barrels was always a big fan of Ainsworth I remember that much, couldn't stop talking about his quality of character....


But it's a nah from me, not that great at ground level, a small marking forward and as was pointed out above Higgins is basically a better version of him. If we're gonna poach from the Suns might as well poach someone good.
