We become so much more mobile with Voss in for Reidy
Reidy will be the first name dropped after Switta (for injury). The fact that he was being played forward was enough of an indictment. JL was asked about Reidy in his post game presser and after a significant pause the best he could come up with was he competed hard (halved) some contests but we needed some marks.

Reidy did ok against GWS. Aside from that game he has been terrible in every proper practice match and AFL game (ie Port 2024 PS game, Port AFL game, Melbourne 2025 PS game, Geelong AFL game). As soon as Riddle puts on some size he will move ahead of Reidy. I’d say we look at a journeyman ruck or decent depth back-up. At least someone who offer a decent centre ruck contest.

A massive test this week for Jye Amiss. He was in my opinion , very disappointing last week. But he was no Robinson Crusoe.
Need a big lift from Freddy. Our forwards need to be more defensive when the ball is being taken out of our forward line.
Hopefully Bolton is fully fit and ready to fire.
I think, though he is not the best ruckman going round the club have to persevere with Liam Reidy.I don't want to see Jackson and Treacy having to ruck.
A massive game for the team.

I like the journeyman ruck for depth
At least if you have an experienced backup he could possibly halve most contests (Except for Flynn)

Darcy Cameron is a perfect fit

Lol Darcy Cameron walks into most teams in the AFL as a forward/ruck if he isn't good enough for no.1 role.

Feel like he'd like to come back to WA (or least that's the rumour) but it doesn't seem like a sure thing. He's only coming if he's best 22.

Yeah I've been mulling over this for the last couple of days as well.

On Sunday I was all in on Voss for Reidy and Dogga playing main ruck, but the last couple of days I haven't been totally convinced.

I mean, and I'm only spitballing here, Grundy is probably going to monster any ruck we put in there (including Jackson) whilst Swaggy is hurt.

So my alternative thought is we might as well stick with Reidy and maintain the forward structure of the JJJs. I know it's contrary to the popular belief that Reidy just isn't good enough but it just feels like we are damned if we do and damned if we do. And if we are screwed either way, what's the less unpleasant screwing? Reidy rucking against Grundy and not getting the clean delivery to the Js? Or Dogga rucking and not getting the clean delivery to Treacy, Amiss and Voss?

I'm kind of (not entirely) leaning toward Reidy again in the ruck, but I'd love to see Jackson get some more midfield minutes. I still haven't seen enough of that IMO.

Have you seen the first two games, Grundy is not going too well currently. Jackson would do ok against him, Reidy not so much.

Out: Cold Play music after goals

In: Any other idea

This is why you don't skip meetings because someone always has a dumb idea that needs to be crushed.
what's this about? Coldplay? who came up with this brainfart?

What are they proposing - Fix You, Yellow, or Adventure of a Lifetime? We being cynical or attempting to bore ourselves to sleep?

Being a Sunday game we're not going to see anything of note in half an hour when the teams drop, are we? I'll be surprised if it isn't 22 of the 23 names from round 1, out Switta, in Bolton and both Reidy and Voss on an extended bench.

Yes its a good point Hamann. Sure, we got smashed around the ball in the Cats game and Reidy has to take some of the blame for it. The bulk of the blame though should go to the midfielders and to the selection committee who replaced three mids with 2 extra defenders.
Its 3 or 4 seasons in and we still dont know if the JJJ structure works. We still dont know if Chappie or Clark could play wing, we still havent given Ras an 8 game run at it to see if hes any good, we still havent played the Unicorn as a midfielder, we still havent played Walker in the forward line and we never play Brodie even when we lose two big bodied, rather slow mids.
Its the third year in a row I ve heard JLo say, when asked about the ruck structure, "we are still working through that"
All we have is questions and no answers.

McLean named for the Swans.

Interestingly, Reidy is on the extended bench, which may indicate he has been dropped.

Ins: Voss, Bolton, Erasmus

Out: Switta, Reidy, Worner

Chapman starting, Banners to sub. That's what I hope for.
