yeah real bizarre unless he was under conditioned? need as many decent ball users as possible in this team. would like to see him on the wing instead of sharp personally

Charlie Nicholls will be a beast when he fills out. Like a slightly taller Amiss.

A brief match sim at training now between the A and B team. Good to see Voss, Amiss and Tracey get a shot on goal early but only Tracey was able to make the distance from 40 metres against a reasonable breeze.

Bolton is adding a lot if energy around our ball movement.

No sh** but if you need another midfielder in the side pick a ****ing midfielder.

This got things to work on carp when we're selecting sh** players or players not suited to the required role is beyond dumb IMO.

Give Erasmus or Brodie a game or two and then let them work on things at Peel when we actually have better players to play their roles (Young, Fyfe) available.

Yeah but JOM, Johnson and O’Driscoll have all played inside at either AFL or WAFL level. So it’s not liked we’ve sent Freddy and Ryan into the middle completely untested.

Six midfielders in the team is not enough, especially when one plays solely on the wing. Simple as that.

Certainly don't have any issue with any of the midfielders that played last week being in the team.

I’m not sure why people are so adverse to having Treacy as the backup up ruck to Jackson. He kicked 45 goals in 20 games last year playing that exact role. It’s gets him into the game and clearly works for him.

we played 9 fn defenders. We need less defenders and more midfielders who were sitting there ready to go. Maybe would have had more energy in the stoppages and early pressure on the rebound, the two areas where we got smashed.

Putting Treacy in the ruck would be like offering one of our most important players to the opposition to jump and put a knee into from one of their least impact players.

If Treacy is taking contested marks for fun out there, they will try and remove him from the game with a flying knee.

Putting him in the ruck just seems like asking for trouble.

He played his best footy and broke out from an average player playing back up ruck and forward last year, people worrying about knees etc is overly cautious. He actually injured himself flying for a mark at the top of the goal square last year. Does that mean we can’t play him forward?!?

Maybe Voss just brings some bash and crash there. The kind of thing he was born to do. He will hate losing the contest. Hope it doesn't make him angry....

Treacy injured costs us our best forward and the ruck role he is shoe horned into.

As you saw end of last year, we need either the tall defenders spoiling the long kicks, or our own talls taking those marks to win. Treacy is critical to us in the marks department.

Throw someone else at the ruck. I don't want to drive my ferrari on the beach.

Sorry but I totally disagree, playing in the ruck clearly helps Treacy get into the game and playing forward/ruck last year got him into the top echelon of players in the competition

Surely a forward line of Amiss and Voss is not what we'd be relying on, even for short periods of time?

He is the best key forward we have since Pav, coming off a PCL injury and you want to put him in the ruck.

Putting him in the ruck, ensures his body has more collisions, and will be soarer every week, and he is at risk for more knee\PCL injuries.

This is why.

Fyfe set for another week in the WAFL, good call. We could bring him back of course, but then you risk him not being able to run out a full game and potentially injured himself further, then he's out for longer.

I know this wont happen but geez I wish JL would be more creative. I think we should push Cox forward if Cyclone is rucking. O'Meara and or Sharp could play half back for brief periods to make this work with rotations for the next few weeks. LJ can ruck 75% of the time,(so no time forward) Cyclone 15% and Voss 10% would be what id do now until Darcy returns. I hate being critical of Freo players but I simply dont think Reidy is up to AFL standard.
