Just my opinion to the Brodie lovers. His card has been stamped for a long time now.We would have to be in very dire straights for him to be recalled.
He doesn't get to enough contests around the ground.He is ok around stoppages, ruck contests, but is never in a place to set up play. To slow.

Peter Bell had tiny legs but went ok.

Will Brodie at least has quick hands, Erasmus' slow decision making gets exposed at AFL level.

Bell was able to be where the ball was. Always took part in the game. Brodie doesn't get involved in the game enough.

Luke Ryan who plays taller than he actually is + Draper + Cox + Pearce + Chapman is far too tall.

Swans usually tag Jordan Clarke, if we go with 5 talls and Clarke can't get a kick we're screwed.

Draper and Chapman are tall, but they are still faster and more agile than Worner, Erasmus, Brodie, Banfield, Reidy, Voss (the rest of the extended bench). It's quite a big bench, Worner would be the smallest player at 188cm.

I'd pick Draper and Chapman first out of that bunch. Would like to see Chapman play up the field. Maybe even tag Blakey.

Swans have indeed tagged Clark with Jordon. But in the game we won last year they switched the tag at half time to Serong, and I would guess they go with Serong from the start this week.

Plat him against small/mediums and it's the same most weeks. When he plays taller, he excels. He doesn't have the agility/nippyness against the smalls. It's been obvious for the last 5 years.

So with this in mind:
reidy - Voss
Switta - Bolton
Worner - Brodie
Chapman to start on field, Banfield sub.

Don't mind this at all, but like you said 0% chance that Brodie gets a recall. If it's at least Voss and Bolton in, and Chapman in the starting 22, I'd be ok with that.

I think Brodie over Ras for this one… with no Fyfe or Young, his bigger body and clean hands becomes important. We looked shot in the midfield last week.

I really don’t rate Worner so he shouldn’t be in the side, Banfield I also don’t rate so he can be the sub. They may have to trial either Chappy or Wagner on a wing I guess?

He won’t get picked, but if he does you effectively go back to the 2022 midfield with Brodie, Serong and Brayshaw.. without Young or Fyfe that’s where I’d go. I agree it won’t happen, more likely Ras perhaps?
I think we need an extra midfielder either way.
