Scandal AFL auditing third party payments from Geelong

1. Geelong are the ONLY club that does NOT play a full allotment of home games at their home ground as we play 'home' games at Marvel/MCG against the 'away' team (I'm not including clubs that have sold home games to regions like Hawthorn in TAS or Melbourne in NT).

2. Geelong, alongside the Marvel tenants, do not get to play home finals at their home ground.

Collingwood supporters making these nonsense claims need to check their privilege tick ✅️.

It is a routine audit but it is being overseen by someone that was at the club during the period that is being audited. Sure, he is not a person that is directly doing the audit but he is overseeing it which is something that is very questionable.
Again, do I think Geelong have done anything different to any other club? No, but it certainly is poor from the AFL that this audit is being overseen by someone who was directly involved in one of the clubs being audited.
You do realise that the person has taken himself out of the process?

And that’s besides the point all the bleating and whining is acting as if the club has been caught out in a rort when it’s just a routine audit…that what was my point

…. Geelong doesn’t share KP with anyone, there’s 5 MCG tenants who play against each other for home games and it nulls the home ground advantage.

Geelong clearly has the strongest home ground advantage, why not be proud of it? lol

So you are being obtuse ..cool it’s a very tired argument that has been dispelled time and time again.

The numbers don’t lie Collingwood gets to play at the MCG 14 times a year not including the finals …cat’s previously were getting less than the 10 KP home games than this year …such a massive advantage 🙄

Why are you even talking about Collingwood... Have you even read my other inputs? I have consistently said the fixture isn't fair and I like that KP gets home games and that the cats deserve it and should be proud of it... fking hell did not realise how precious cats fans were...

All the MCG tenants have 2 "home" games fixtured at Marvel.

Most teams have a very similar amount of games with an advantage as they have with a disadvantage. The difference is the MCG tenants have less of both as they play more neutral games.

The big difference in the draw is travel for Non-Vic teams and who you're fixtured to play twice. Pies have a tough one this year in terms of our double ups.

Bless.

I only responded on this as some Cats fans were crying poor in terms of grounds. Cats play quite a lot of games at the G - 5 this year and similar most years, meaning their MCG games are pretty neutral in terms of advantage. They play 10 home games with a clear advantage. 6 interstate games with a clear disadvantage. And the rest are pretty neutral. It helps. They're probably in the strongest position in terms of HGAs of any team in the comp as most other teams are pretty balanced in terms of advantage vs disadvantage games. Keeping your home ground when the other vic teams didn't was great for the club, both financially and in terms of footy - good luck to you.

Yes they do. And how glorious it was.

We'd trade all 4 flags this century to swap that result, if it helps.

No, I'm not laughing. It's true!
That's nice. I've had a soft spot for Geelong ever since they gave Geoff Miles a run in the 92 GF.

He was my favourite Claremont player at the time. It was just great. He wasn't even the best player at Claremont yet somehow found himself on the big stage at the G alongside guys like Ablett, Brownless, Bairstow, Hocking Couch etc.

I believe his daughter is married to Mitch Duncan!

Here's Garry Lyon imploring other teams. (namely West Cost) to diddle the Salary Cap. To do what allegedly Geelong has been doing for years. Third party deals.

“Fire up, get your big heavy-hitters, get Jack Cowin, he is Hungry Jack. Get your heaviest hitters in the room and put a package together,” he continued.
“I did a bit of homework. Lloyd Meek is out of contact at the end of the year.
Calsher Dear is out of contract, Josh Ward is out of contact, James Worpel is a free agent.
“If I was the West Coast Eagles, I’d get on the phone to their managers and go, ‘Here, this is what we can do for Lloyd Meek’. He’s having a fantastic year. Put a package together for him that says, ‘If you come to us, not only will we tip you into a Hungry Jack’s, we will tip you into some stock, and you’ll get a million bucks playing footy for us’.

Gaz is hurting through Melbourne's capitulation. It seems to be a common theme where those associated with loser clubs are having the biggest tantrums.
This stuff from Lyon was complete dread about the prospect of the Hawks having a powerhouse era again. As if WCE are going to go Hawthorn are targetting our players - lets specifically target their's. **** me - the 4 he mentioned as massive targets to make a statement over? A million bucks a year to Lloyd Meek? Chasing Meek, Dear, Ward and Worpel as the WCE targets to turn themselves back into an alpha predator? WTF is he on about.

Is anyone cool with games / finals / premierships / medals / records standng if cheating was a part of the process?

Games where an improperly recruited, remunerated or incentivised player took the field should be marked as forfeits. No time limit, no amnesty.

If you don't do this you don't have a game to preserve, just a stack of corruption.

Can start with handing us the 95' flag then.
