I'd be putting a 5 year extension in front of Worrell today! He was so bloody good that every Vic club will be calling his manager about wanting to return to Vic for a million bucks.

Love what the Woz brings, feel super comfortable he’s here for the long term as well, seems completely entrenched in the club. Maybe even a Dark horse as Captain one day?

He has been a good servant for the club but this stretch should give us fresh ideas on how Or midfield can run.
Yes. "Should", but we still have Nicks at the helm.
A better Coach would have sensed, or been told (by Burgess?) that Crouch was carrying a sore hip and playing poorly and that Murray was hampered by his knee.
Nicks still selected them both.
My hope is that Nicks doesn’t rush him back if things are working.
I hope so too.
Before Dr. Phil turned into Phil Donahue2.0, a New Sensation-alist, he used to say that the best indicator of future behaviour is past behaviour.
From what we've seen, Nicks is glacially slow to change or innovate or adjust.

How many shrinks does it take to change a light bulb?
Only one, but it has to really want to change.
Is that our Nicks? We'll see, I guess.

Josh and his partner seem to have really settled into the Adelaide laid back lifestyle and are best buds with Mitch Hinge and his partner. I'd be surprised if he looked to head home seems to really appreciate what the club/coaches etc have done to help him become the player he is today, that, and seems very tight with his teammates. Pay him what he's worth and I think he's a Crow for life.

Good:
Loved Rachele in the middle. 420M gained for a forward mid, his fitness has improved immensely.
Berry should be on for a full game, looks fitter, thicker and faster.
Rankine and Dawson back to their best after being ordinary last week
Worrell having a few good games in a row and being starting to take notice.
MM and Milera were elite down back- 12 marks for MM with 520M gained.
Zac Taylor has something about him, if he can build that tank and strength more...The twists, turns and clever handballs will start to do damage, in addition to sneaking forward... and then running a crop circle for a 45M kick which scores 0.1
Ditto Dan Curtin, this guy is something. If he has a 20+ disposal game it will be cause some damage
Tex was pretty good and lead the forward line well. Needs a rest I think but Port and Collingwood are must win.

Bad:
Thilthorpes fingers, Fogartys shoulder. They aren't 100% healthy but hopefully much better next week and so on.
The Freo game, they played out of their skins last week. Maybe they are a bit similar to us and kind of not get it together on the road.

Why do our 10 goal wins not feel like 10 goal wins? It's odd, just a scrappy turnover riddled game where we stopped them from scoring, they held us up and the dam wall burst for a few minutes a quarter and we scored 2-4 goals in as many minutes.

Ugly:

Port next week being all upset and angry because they lost by 15 goals.

Can’t take much out of that game are Carlton didn’t show up!! Some big performances by Worrell, Max, Dawson and Rankine.
I do like the fact we have kept Curtin in and his marking has improved, his disposal has always been good.

We are on the right track but today didn’t show me anything I didn’t know about us.

Carlton are a very average team that like Melbourne are almost in no man’s land. Top players are good but old and the rest are poor to average

Regarding Tex, some part of his game are definitely not what they once were (a coach should really tell him he's failed his last 10 fend off attempts).

But he's still so dangerous to be left 1 out on a 3rd KPD. Plus I feel like Riley is now taking the #1 and drawing the 3rd man in almost exclusively, so Tex's body will probably hold up way better then years gone by when he was attracting that crowd.

Who was suggesting Nank play wing and ahead of the ball though? The discussion was Nank v Milera off half back. If you don’t understand that, then why would anyone bother discussing with you. Nank has been poor, but he’s being deployed to a role very few wanted him playing.
Look your judgement is clearly up there with the worst on this board. You have proven that repeatedly. Let’s not bother debating the bleeding obvious of Milera>>>Nank as a FOOTBALLER

I'm really proud of Zac Taylor, at the start of last year's pre season he was struggling with his fitness, but he's put in time and work so that he's able to comfortably play at AFL level. His footy IQ is so high and he makes us better playing that horrid half forward role that was once occupied by Murphy. I'm so glad the coaches have decided to give him a good run of games, he's only getting better.

He's never been slow. Just a poor kick which he seems to have improved.
Only came on late in the third but during that fourth qtr Berry looked very strong, agile and had speed. his kicking was on target as well. I was impressed by what he did in a short period of time.

Lets help them get used to that.

I nearly threw my beer at the TV when the commentators mentioned Taylor and Roo said something like "He doesn't do much, but what he does do, he does well". Such an unnecessarily backhanded compliment. I can't wait until we flush that turd.

He was playing to a similar standard 1-2 years ago, around the time Pedlar was also in form. They are both capable players, just lacking the consistency for whatever reasons.

Berry was a real spark as a sub when he came on. If he isn’t in our best 22, he might be one of our best Sub choice if we are to go deep this season.

He’s being sarcastic. 1970 has consistently been on the “we don’t need crouch” bandwagon more than anyone.
+
I think its more the get rid of anyone over the age of 30 bandwagon. Wants Walker & Laird & Crouch all out.
Not to mention the SACK NICKS bandwagon which looks like:

Cmon time for Nank fan bois to admit their mistake, he is in shocking form and no where near the much derided Mileras talent level. Watch Mileras clean hands almost every time under pressure and distribute to the right option. He shits all over Nank. Nicks abused timee and time again - pathetically by some like the geriatric school teacher guy who I forget his name - but surely the truth can’t be denied any longer. Nicks was RIGHT, And that is:

Milera>>>>>>Nank

Waiting for everyone to own up inc some of our faves like Le Frog. Geroge, don’t respond I can’t see it
I like Nankervis. But he’s terribly out of form. Him out for Hinge only change I’d make.

Impressive win. Massive game with a good chance to improve to 6-3 next week, from which point I think finals would be very likely.

Terrific defensive effort in particular. Everyone in the backline was great, especially Worrell who had his best AFL game I think. Loved Keane's game as well, and have been really impressed with Laird. I definitely didn't see what value he would add in defence before the season but he's had a really great year. Even taking intercept marks, while he still has the ability to win tough ground balls that made him a decent midfielder.

Our weapons and talls ascendancy seems to worry them but we’ve gotta make the killer blow and also take the umps out of it
How is that going to happen? Even at home vs Carlton we've got all the 50/50 deliberate out of bounds calls against us (5 of them?) and then Cripps does the most egregious one of the day and it's all good.

And this will be the AFL's pet team at their home ground.

We've just got to accept that we need to be several goals better in form to win this.

The most frustrating thing about the umpiring is the total inconsistency in how they call it. I wouldn't have been bothered by our insufficient attempt calls if they called the one on Cripps, at least there would be consistency there. But how can you look at all those instances and pick out Cripps one and say "he wanted to keep that in". Just mind boggling stuff.
