Carlton have played 5 games against decent teams, and won one of them - a game Chris Scott commented about how bad he thought his team played.

So maybe it's not really about the difference between Carlton's best and worst, but instead occasionally catching a team on an off day to claim a rare good win.

In the same way that Richmond beat Sydney last year.
Yep - we've beaten them the last two times in the exact same way but it must have just been "off days".

It can happen.

Geelong were in poor form when you played them in 2024 (after having beaten you earlier in the year), and Scott has said it was a bad night last week.

But keep dining out on your single good win against quality opposition in 5 attempts if it makes you feel better.

Where have I been "dining out" on anything? I'm pointing out a trend with Carlton that has continued in 2025 and has been evident since Voss was appointed. To improve they needed to minimise the gap between their best and their worst and they haven't thus far.

And I'm pointing out that Carlton are nothing other than a bottom 6 team who will have the occasional good win against a decent team when their opposition has an off day.

As evidenced by their 1 win/4 loss record against quality opposition in 2025, and 2 win/1 loss record against poor opposition.

Kind of like how you forget how to reason halfway through a discussion.

Melting about what? Have you read the thread title.. it's Hawks v Carlton 2025.

Here this might help... (I tried to include both Hawthorn and Carlton on the ladder as a comparison in a one page screenshot. This is the best I could do. Hawthorn circled in red ⭕, Carlton in blue 🔵 next to Continental Tyres)

Blues may not finish above the Hawks this year but they're quite clearly a fraudulent team as well so no harm done either way.

Can't recall a team so arrogant and sooky ever doing significant damage in finals. Probably why they lost to the immortal King Kenny last year and got embarrassed again the other week by him while they were getting ready to show off their new tik tok celebrations.

Flexing over Port Adelaide beating Hawthorn?

Cute.

Hang in there believers.

Blues are about to mount a charge.

No premierships on offer in April.

Hawks “first round” pick of ours will be in the 20s.

Flaggers #17 etc etc

Anything resembling your best footy will see you win every game for the rest of the year. Adelaide away was your toughest game for the remainder of 2025

I don't think they beat Saints next week. Then they have Sydney the following and could be sitting 14th, three games out of the eight, in round 10.

Carlton's best is easily top 8 material but their weak depth which has has been exposed due to a horror injury list means that form has been impossible to maintain.

Their next 3 games will go a long way in determining wether they're a legit shot at squeezing into the top 8 and to stay in touch you'd think at worst they need to at least come out of their next 3 games with 2 wins. If they can do that then there's 3 winnable games after their bye in round 12 in which they can build some momentum. Now if they lose all 3 then things become desperate.

How many games do we see theBlues wining of their next 3? I say maybe 1.

Next 3 games:

vs Saints (MCG)
vs Swans (SCG)
vs Giants (Marvel)

Bye

3 games after the bye:
vs Bombers (MCG)
vs Eagles (Optus)
vs North (MCG)
