When you have a whole team making poor decisions/panicking it is because they don't have trust in something. That something is Nicks and his gameplan.

We all loving dumping on Nicks. if you want to pretend that Milera making that error wss because he didn't trust Nicks' gameplan I don't know what to tell you. 99.9 times out of 100 that ball is going long to forward pocket and hopefully a set of repeat stoppages in your F50. Most u14s could pass that situational test.

I did a quick Google and it seems like the AFL has essentially punted it, saying that they'll handle such a case if and when it occurs.

My guess is that there will be some kind of "must have been in a parenting/guardianship capacity for xx years prior to drafting" clause added to allow it.

Think if that not 15 was paid a mark then Port win. I think the umps edged us over the line on this one.

Given how many times we've been dudded by umpiring in close games, I think we were well overdue to be on the right end of one.

The decision from Milera was fine, it was the execution that was awful. He slipped when getting the ball, panicked and rushed the kick. The player was 100% open.

Just an all-time shocker kick at the worst moment possible.

Ports usuals played out of their skin for their beloved Ken Hinkley. The focus in their eyes was there, they were on tonight. They still lost. A few good mids doesn't paper over the other areas on the ground they are cooked in.

Berry when he was subbed in, not as slow as I thought.
Keane's mark - that's the second game he's won for us with a match-saving mark. You really take the good and the bad with this guy.

In that situation - 5 mins or whatever to go, holding a relatively comfortable but also vulnerable sized lead in a high pressure game - is that REALLY the play you want there?

Other options included going long into a forward line we had well in the air with. That option also includs the boundary line.

Versus going into the middle.

I get it, if the kick came off we dont even talk about it but we saw tonight the risk that always exists with a lick thar

No we weren’t, we were happy we were kicking big scores and winning comfortably. Don’t confuse some media and Nicks with this board.

Gees that’s a harsh criticism of a tactic that almost see us blow a 4 goal lead and needing a game saving mark to hold on.
