Autopsy Crows thrash swan (don’t worry tho, this game won’t define us)

I think Ladhams is quicker than mclean and works harder ,
sometimes think if he is in he should ruck more , seems under-utilised .

Ladhams can’t kick. He’s a waste of a spot up forward. McLean is at least good for 1 or 2 goals a game. Ladhams, for all his effort, is only useful when he rucks, which he doesn’t do a lot of. He’ll take a couple of decent marks and then promptly waste it. He’s not really good enough.

100% this

Ladhams better marginally in the ruck

McLean much better as a forward than Ladhams

Therefore McLean > Ladhams

Grundy is an interesting case. He’s always in the game and keeps finding the ball, plus he’s a solid ruck about half of the time (when he’s not wresting and giving away free after free).

And that’s it. The other aspects of his game are abysmal. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him take a contested mark, which sounds insane for a ruck. He makes any type of mark seem dicey and tends to drop everything. And his disposal - particularly his kicking - is very very poor. He’s somehow ended up one of our better tacklers, but even there, he’s totally mediocre. He’s really not a great player, but to his credit, he keeps chipping away and makes himself look better than he is. I suppose that’s a talent too.

He's the best Ruck the swans have had in a very long time.

Plus he looks like he bleeds.
Better than 95% of the others.

Teams have business cycles and we are in a trough.

There's no exec-speak magic wand immediate solution.

Not gonna kid myself, I could smell it at the G last week, could smell from the couch last night

Time to reset expectations, it will allow me to attend the Tiges match and continue onwards.

Disappointment comes from unrealistic expectation and delusion.

It's our turn, we ain't special.

It's when you find out if you are a supporter or a follower.

I don't know where to start.
Besides the fact I was doped up on pseudoephedrine and can't remember the 4th Q.

I hope every player in the club looks at what Wayne Milera said. That should be plastered everywhere.
Let it sink in.
No more of this cuddly BS.

The other frustrating thing was how arsey the crows were.
The term bounce of the ball was a literal thing last night.
The umps as well. You can't complain in the scheme of things.
However it seemed like every half decision went their way.

We all wish we were doped up on pseudoephedrine while watching the crap last night

If anyone bags Grundy on last night they seriously need help
Clearly our best
Bag Chad and Heens , but as a mate said to me look how the Pies protect Daicos when he's breaking away

Hey I’ve thought of a good positive…

We keep sucking we will get a top 2-3 pick that we hopefully won’t blow on the next Dylan Stephens.

This is a year we needed to have for mine
If the Tigers had kicked straight they would have been on the same games as us.

Yesterday wasn't a complete write-off - I rewatched the 2005 GF for the first time in ages. What a game! I know it's often bagged as a slogfest, but there was some exhilarating football and some extraordinarily brutal efforts from both teams.

The comparison with what got served up last night could not have been more stark, Yep, I know it's a different time - I reckon there would have been 20-30 more free kicks paid under current rules, 30-40 on the bollocks served up by last night's officials, and several players would have done weeks - but the commitment and intensity were extraordinary.

Is this the death of the Bloods? I hope not, but the 2005 version must have wondering what the heck they were watching last night.

And on the difference in rules interpretation between 2005 and 2025, I get that some of this is meant to protect the players, but much of it has done little to improve the game. I'm thinking about the ruck and marking contest free kick fiascos in particular.

Game has changed but players are a bit more skilled nowadays and that’s good to see rather than making it a rugby maul in 2004-2008. You don’t want 100 stoppages it becomes a complete scrap.

We will no doubt bounce back but it may be a couple of years.

Can't believe Wayne Milera said what at least 50,000 people watching that game were all thinking. What an arseh*le

Ok, here goes. I've been holding back even after last week.

Did the Port smashing define the Swans last season? Does this game vs. Crows define us this season? So much bs and is all words. Milera was being honest we are rabble on and off the field.

Let's be brutally honest, we fans post here on BigFooty because we care and not only because we are just watching the sport we love but moreso because we invest ourselves in supporting the makeup of the footy club, or as it 'was' known Bloods. We have to be kidding ourselves if we think that culture is still present, not after the crap we have dished up (or not dished up at all) the past two weeks, combined losing margin of 70 points.

Injuries, suspensions all that aside we currently are a shadow of what made us a respectful side on the field. Would lose games, but not without the lack of trying or having a crack. We would win games, but with respect to the opposition we played.

Right now, we lose and lose badly against the best sides. We lose against sides mid-way, decide to turn up when we want for a quarter.

We've lost the respect for our opposition but I think more deeply ourselves. Physically, mentally cooked after two Grand Final defeats with majority this playing group. We let a Club Champion walk away, our own fault, to find opportunities elsewhere (We all loved Parks tough edge).

Where is that tough edge? Where is the trust in the teammates to back each other in? Doesn't look there at all.

Coxy, really hard to make judgement but the results so far aren't doing him any favours.

Champion team doesn't exist currently.

What do I (we) want to see from the Swans for the remainder of the year?

Make a bloody statement on the field (just be competitive FFS) and scrap the bull that occurs off.

I won't actually hold a grudge given I'm not aware of a track record of floggery (unlike Walker, Rachele, the Crows in general), but nah F him and his club, is my thoughtful, considered view today.

Guess my point is ruck more or why bother

Can’t believe people are defending Milera. There’s an unspoken rule that players don’t shit on other clubs in public, especially after a 90 point win. You’ve already demoralized them on the field, it’s really not necessary to stick the boot in afterwards. It comes across as unsportsmanlike and arrogant, particularly when your own team has been a rabble for years. It’s a cheap shot. Makes him sound like such an arseh*le.

As a NZ cricket supporter I'm now going to take the same attitude as I do when supporting the Black Caps.
