Thanks for that. I noted him missing a bad set shot last week & thought he should have made it easily considering kicking the round ball straight and square is bread and better stuff for the Irish players, but it was at a slight angle and in front of a large crowd, so easier said than done. Is there any players you & Mr Meow could recommend watching that plays a role similar to Mullin?

Seen Cillian Burke scored his first goal for the VFL team - not a bad one for your 1st goal.
Marcus Windhager (St Kilda)
Toby Bedford (GWS)
James Jordon (Sydney)

In 2001, I saw Essendon run over us. Behind me were two guys in their mid-20s who had obviously picked the Bombres in the 1980s.

They talked about how they had to aim for a threepeat in 2002 to make up for not winning 1999. They traded lengthy insights with each other about how Sheedy and Essendon had modernised the game

I stayed to the end, but they left early. One of them said to me, "I feel sorry for your club, mate."

I was at that game too. Had flown down from Brisbane to watch us knock the Pies the previous week but went into this game without much expectation. They destroyed us early but we came back and held our own. I went away very up-beat - it felt like this group was building.

Took a little longer than I would've liked - and had to endure a few more years of watching the Brions smack our team around up here - but it was worth the wait!

To be fair, Essendon's apparent game plan of "Bomb it straight down the throats of Stewart, Guthrie and O'Sullivan" sure didn't help Caddy.....

No doubting Nat Caddy is a real talent but he's only 193 cms and against a guy like COS who is at nearly 200 cms and just as agile, in future meetings which you'll think there'll be a few he won't find it easy against him.

Who are these stars that are missing from your bottom 2 team?
Have a look at your injury list, then have a look at ours.

One of them would lead to a significant improvement to on field performance if they were available, and the other team is so insignificant that barely anyone would notice if they folded since they have won 1 flag in 152 years.

You know what else you haven't done? Beaten the team that you love bagging the shit out of in your last 12 attempts.
Congrats on consecutively beating the worst team of the last 5 years. Huge achievement.

If only you could play us every week, you might make finals. And we know what happens then.

All teams have plenty of injuries
Not to all their key pillars in the backline and both main rucks. It's killed any sort of structure and affects the game plan when you don't have the best players to carry out the game plan. The guys out there are trying but don't have the talent yet. Too much inexperience. It's why you can't really judge Brad Scott this year until he gets the cavalry back.

A disgracefull peeformance by one of the Big 4 clubs...how has it come to this for a club with such riches and corporate support
Mate there about as young as Richmond is most weeks out there. And it's come unexpectedly so have had to scramble to find players to make them competitive. Laverde is basically their 3rd-4th choice key back and he's playing on arguably the best player in the game. He was no chance yesterday the way the ball was moving forward. Teams are going to cash in ATM knowing it's not a strong team they are playing.

Caddys real strength is his running power. The hope in a few years is that he just gets up and down the ground and actually rewarded for that running. At the moment we don't have the skilled players behind the ball to make it work so we just bomb it to him which is not what his best is.

Geelong traded a pick with Richmond to move up the draft order to get Holmes with pick 20 I think.

Try again
Pick swaps with Richmond + Essendon and got us Holmes, Mannagh and O'Sullivan. Pick 94 as part of the Ratugolea trade with Port got us Humphries. Life's good.

Back than though they were actually a big 4 club who played finals most years and won flags. These days you don't hear that sort of talk from a fair portion of supporters. I'd suggest it's more your mob of supporters that have a bit of smugness about them and rightly so. Easter Monday I sat amongst a group of insufferable flogs who were very happy with how Geelong is going in general so it's not just exclusive to a particular supporter base.

The thing is Vindicator: one of COS's strengths is his agility which is every bit as good as Caddy's and to why I think he will struggle against COS in future meetings because Nat won't be out marking him in many contests. Mind you we'd love to have Nat Caddy down at the Cattery because the kid going to be a gun AFL player. I've mentioned this before but I reckon COS won't be far behind Matthew Scarlett in career performance by the time he finishes playing.

How does his agility help him against Caddys gut running which is what I said his strength will be.

Long term it will be a great contest if we can fix our other issues around the ground. Connor will win most of the aerial contests but Caddy will try to gas him and outwork him around the ground.

Sorry about that Vindicater: I forgot to mention that COS is every bit as good as Nat Caddy when it comes to gut running so he won't have any advantage 'at all' in that area of the game if and when they play against each other. But there's no knock on Nat because he's going to be a gun AFL player.
