Playing on what is essentially a foreign ground for us against a club that embarrassed us only 2 months ago.
Seriously there is no pleasing some of you lot.

Providing our confidence isn’t completely blown out of the park in the next 2 weeks, it’s quite conceivable, that in 3 weeks time, we will be 3 from 3 at the G for the season, can’t remember the last time we played 3 games there, let alone had 3 wins.

Alas though, I swear there’s some on here, that would be happy to have played 4 very consistent qtrs and lost by 11 pts

I can't (and wouldn't want to) speak for Nostra, but nothing could be further from the truth for me - I'm a HUGE fan of Wardlaw. But this is a professional sport and the facts are Wardlaw is in poor form at the moment.

He's one of quite a few you could have pulled for that sub, but it is a brave call to say that Fisher didn't offer just as much as Wardlaw had.

Anyway to the matter at hand. 3 Quarters you say FG? We only won 2 of them. There was a lot to like about the 2nd Quarter but there was very little to like about the last. Great that we won but it really was unconvincing in the end. To go reverse JGreaseball on you all including the Very Flawed Genius, 3 of our 4 wins have been achieved with less registered scores (Goals and Points for you bananas) than the opposition. Cracks are being wall papered over. We do have some young talent that do look good. Sheezel, McKercher, FOS, Hardeman, Curtis and shit even Powell when he turns it on like he did today. But sadly that aint enough. :stern look

Allow me to do a little bit of crystal ball gazing for you all. Yes this coming from the guy that gave you a Quatrain predicting the demise of Nobles. We will only ever be as good as a bottom part of the top 8 with this current list. It still has holes. There is still a lack of talent. There aren't any real match winners. You know that dominant type that can just turn the game on when required. I still maintain that Rawling should be shot in the sun for what he has done to this list. For how bad we have been for so long. Historically one of the worst teams we have had to bear witness in our lifetimes. I'll repeat that its great that we won today and I'm happy. But the truth is staring you all in the face. And many of you are too soft to admit it. :stern look

At the ground it felt & looked like the players gave everything for the first 3 quarters and wasn't much left in the tank during the last.

I got this vibe as well.
Game was over at 3 quarter time. Carlton flogs were leaving in masses.

I felt we put the cue in the rack at the last change, but it was as much us going into preservation mode after 2 weeks in WA as much as anything.
Yes we played poorly and didnt defend well and most importantly didnt score, but that was a dead rubber of a 4th quarter.

Usually I'd be up in arms at a collapse like that, but I wouldn't read too much into it.

Haven't beaten this lot since 2021, even longer since it's been on the G. All the young players showed stacks, we put the Blues to the sword physically and mentally for three quarters, and continued the form we've showed over the last two and a bit months to get a W. Casual 93 point turnaround from GF too.

And it's all misery and mewling in here. Oh we should have won by more. Greedy bastards

‘yeah I know we won grand final and that, but I actually don’t think we played that well. I know he got the norm smith and played ok…..but I still don’t see it with Colby. Maybe we could look to trade him while he has value. I just don’t see us going back to back with Larkey at full forward. Game started off slowly till we got going in the second quarter and there was some great ball movement.
Loved our hardness at the vintage and we’ve got a few campaigners that like to smash in now in PC , X , Camz ,JK and Parker.
Put blues off their game - Hewitt was trying to start
Our young guns are coming on and leading from the front - Harry , Colby , Powell , warlord , FOS
Colby last 4-6 has been excellent and is playing line breaking play like he did in juniors
Parks did a number on Cripps
Harry and Powell were busy all day
Camz and PC are hard to stop
Pink was massive and Logue is getting better every week

Just got home from work, so pumped like the rest of us that we got the win but as Alastair said we still have so much to work on, it'll come, I could see it quite awhile ago but the scope is there for the team, that we hope to become. But we are going to face more hurdles, but the really good news is when "we click" as I said before, it will shock a few people of how good we are going to be.

I'm now going to read every dam post on this thread, god I love this club. Sometimes its hard to convey something when you can see it but a few others don't, especially when it does take time & only happens every now & again, "a fluke, lets see it next week", those sort of comments always make me rise my left eyebrow {like Spock} you just can't throw out conditions like that and when it doesn't happen then crow to everyone "I knew it, told you all that it was a one off" and so on.

One last thing, some want to know our game plan and how we are going to play, if it didn't click for that Collingwood game last year then the game today just gave you another sneak preview.
