Unfortunately, that’s exactly what we’ll do. Melbourne turned up to play, we didn’t play ‘our way’, nothing to learn, we’ll definitely do better come finals against much better opposition. Probably the only way to improve is to get more continuity into Murphy.
Yeah I agree. He just needs a few more games to feel comfortable at this level. The first 135 games are just exposing him to the pace of thd game.

Good: Coming back from >4 goals down to win. First time since Thilthorpe's debut we've done it.
I said similar on Page 1, but not many have made a comment on such a breakthrough win.
It's one of the monkeys that'd been hanging on for so long, OFF our backs.

I texted my sister when we were nearly 5 goals down and basically said we were cactus-phuktus, having never come back from so far behind to win, under Nicks. I said:
"This will be a huge Test for the new-look, top-4 Crows. If they wanna do anything come Finals, they'll have to come back and win this game" and not expecting they would.

I am very surprised and very happy they did :grinv1:, happy for the players too.
It will give their belief a boost.

Also Lachlan Murphy had 2 touches in a half of football and was putrid, but we all knew that would happen

He absolutely cannot play in Rachele's spot while he's injured

Nah take into account games played
No, I'm talking about the performance in the game today. Taylor and Murphy stank it up equally. People keep telling me what a natural footballer Taylor is if only he could get a game. I don't see him being anymore AFL ready than the day we selected him.

Loved that Dan Curtin had a quiet day on the stat sheet (had the distinct feeling the Demons had a plan to keep the ball well away from him). But still managed to have multiple game turning moments today.

Kids a star in the making
You know you have a quality kid when he can still have a big impact when he's not having a great day. His courage in the last month or so has really surprised me. Could be a great captain one day.

I expect more from a 100+ game player

The universe has a rule when something seems obvious to everyone to happen and repeatedly doesn't, it means when explored, it proved to be an utterly stupid idea.

It makes absolutely no difference who we select between a shit 118 game player or a shit 2 game player who we're unconvinced on their future. That's just a PR move for teams who haven't made finals and are desperate to sell hope.
Ridiculous take for 2 reasons.

a. Dowling, Draper, Schoenberg, Pedlar, Edwards, Cook, Bond etc aren’t shit. They can all play high level and have shown it way more than Murphy, and

B. Even if they were shit. They have potential improvement in them. Murphy clearly does not.

You have some really strange opinions, you’re almost a Waynelite

Good: 4 points. Soligo. Fogarty. Berry. Rankine. Peatling.
Curtin, as well. Two-way-running Keays was useful and should have had 4 goals, not 2.
Bad: kicking to defenders' advantage.
Yeah, this was horrible for that first 3/8ths. So many hurried entries going straight to the chests of Mrlb. defenders, was frustrating :grimacing: . Good thing they didn't put their dominance on the scoreboard.
Attack on the ball not hard enought for first 3/8.

Ugly: Rachele injury. Rachele's replacement having no positive impact.
yeah, again :grimacing::madv1:.
I wonder how many times this cycle:
Pick-Murphy-watch-him-spud-it-up-drop-Murphy is going to be repeated going forward before Nicks eventually wakes up.
I loved today's come-from-behind win, but Nicks' Murphy-love is holding us back.

He had 3 turnovers as well.

And like, crashed into our blokes when they were trying to mark it. And bafflingly, didn't throw himself at the marking contest when he should have, and let defenders mark the thing when he was nearby.
