I think the fact that they sent him for scans suggests that his knee most likely failed the structure test.

When my son did his ACL I was told that those structure tests on a knee are about 95% accurate.

I think we need to prepare for the worst.
As per my previous post on another thread, Josh Gabelich said this morning the structure test was positive.

However, my physio mate said yesterday the hamstring and surrounding structures can tighten up to offset the ACL rupture/instability. Plenty of players have passed the test and have ended up with acl injuries. A scan is needed either way.

I think Smith should be sub each week. I don't like kids being sub and Murphy is useless. Smithers has a weapon with his kicking.

Cummings then to HB, bring back Nank for wing.
I understand why Smith was preferred on the BF but if Milera plays Smith is sub or a floater back there.

Again not critical but it highlights the thought process of the coaching group

You have to wonder how much his personal issues are still impacting his game.

Look at the difference of him between the last match we won against them at AO a few years back. He ran all day, kicked 4 goals and just looked unstoppable. He hasn't come back from addiction even half of that player. Maybe he is dialling it in because he doesn't want to work there, maybe the game has moved past him, I don't know but we dodged a really big bullet not taking him.

The way he did it and clutched at it and the pain he was in also tells me we need to prepare for the worst. gutted

IMO Taylor has something… I just don’t think they are giving him that consistent game time (and on the ground) he needs to show it.
As others have pointed out with Cumming, he's defending the dead side of the play most of the time he's out there, it's not really a role designed to get touches.

You watch him live at the game and he spends huge periods of time like 20-30m away from where the ball is.

Just had to take the GF to get this same test done on Sunday and the physio said the same thing. Basically he couldn't tell because her quads and hammies had tightened up so much to compensate for the damage done in the knee. And yep, still got sent off to get an MRI.

For a tie breaker it might have to come down to which one was playing their 17th game and which one was playing their 119th.
Your talking about future potential rather than output in the game just played. Not at all the same thing. Taylor was on the end of one very good pass from Rankine which he did goal. He had 4 other possessions 3 of which were direct turnovers. It was a poor game by him.
I continue to be baffled by Murphy's selection, he isn't AFL standard but justifying another players game by saying he was no worse than Murphy is equally baffling.

Good: Comeback win. Peatling, Rankine excellent. RoB held his own too in most situations. We were good in some key moments with spoils, contested marks and a couple of great efforts from Curtin.

Bad: Melbourne's leading forwards cut us up for a lot of the game. We have to get match-ups right and I felt that we got a few wrong early (I recall Butts on Melksham for one).

Ugly: Our forward set-up early on...I think they took 19 intercept marks...how on earth we ended up with something like 17 marks inside 50 is beyond me. We don't seem to lift our eyes and look for shorter options around the 50m range. We need to address this quickly if we want to go deep in September. Our last 5 minutes or so was again woeful in bombing it down the line and missing obvious shorter targets. Oh, and Rachele's injury - just hope it's not an ACL for his sake - he's been in some pretty good form!

He had 70% TOG for 5 touches. Peatling had 71% TOG for 25 touches.

Taylor didn’t have a good game by any measure. It wasn’t even a passable game.
While that's true, I don't know where Taylor was. Like, watching on TV he was barely ever near the ball.

Don't get why we have a young mid and don't give him proper midfield time. Makes no sense.

The Keane arm swing to Melksham is getting a bit of traction. Do we reckon he's in any trouble? Wasn't even looking at Melksham but seems like there might have been a tiny bit of contact given Melksham's tough guy reaction.

Could see the AFL wanting to puff out their chests on him/us.

A fine at most, I reckon.

That would be a tough call but agree they might make it. When is the last time for that to come out?
Good and bad news about Rash. An 8 week injury with surgery but no ACL

That he did, but I still don't think that excuses only getting hold of the ball 5 times in a full game.
I only realised that he was playing when he appeared on my screen just before halftime. I really liked his one-on five effort to take the mark and goal, but hated his disposal effort out of defence that cost a goal in the last. Admittedly, the latter was not just his fault.

Good: We won the clearances against 3 Inside Bulls. Hopefully this puts to bed once and for all that we need Matt Crouch back into the side to help out.

Interesting. If it's not an ACL - whats the prognosis? Hyperextension?
