80% of the team looked out of sorts yesterday

And watching a little closer yesterday it's fair to say I've under estimated just how good May is. His ability to read the play and his timing is a little freakish

Hes on the same level as Wayne Carey in the shit bloke good footballer scale.

Should start a thread ''Quotes of the AFC ''

He will get a rest sometime this year
Murphy is finished
Youth will be prioritised
Smith is break glass
Nicks is a Premiership Coach
Murray Davis will sort out selection
His opportunity will come, he just needs to make sure he's ready for it

Murphy gets dropped, then as fate would have it gets back into the side after a late out, then gets a half due to injury.

There should be a term for that, Lachie’s Rule or something.
Murphy's Law?

Good: did what good sides do and recovered after a flat start.
Bad: the forward entries, particularly in the first halves have been diabolical the last two weeks. I thought we’d got past that?
Ugly: Rach, crossing fingers and toes the news is good

Just heard Rachele out for the rest of the H&A season, but hasn't done an ACL.

I was reading about the mushroom murder verdict so only half heard the story - they did mention the injury and compared it to a (Victorian??) player, but I missed it
Sam Darcy possibly

Coaches votes:

Adelaide v Melbourne

10 Izak Rankine (ADEL)
6 Steven May (MELB)
5 Kysaiah Pickett (MELB)
5 Ben Keays (ADEL)
4 Jake Soligo (ADEL)

Few different ways to break that down, but at least there was agreement on the best five players.

I'm surprised to see Keays in there... did I underestimate his game? I would have had Dawson, Peatling, Turner, and probably a few others in there ahead of him.

Season high disposals, 5 shots on goal.

I probably underestimated his game a bit too. Dawson was very good also

Amazing that it was Keays again, but I reckon we got away with that goal review. The angles on the review completely ignored McVee's swat. Spent all the time checking May and the other defender, and by the time they rewound the tape enough they'd already made their decision. Don't know for sure whether McVee made contact, in real time it looked like it, but they didn't even go to a different angle on his touch.

Doesn't quite make up for the Sydney one, but Melbourne could rightly feel a bit annoyed by that review.
Looked a clear touch when they finally showed the whole play but as you say, by then the goal had been paid.

Viney stiff. Thought he was close to BOG.

if he has a long career, he should think about getting some shares
or
get his Manager to do an Ad. deal with him ... as in:
"Hi, I'm Riley Thilthorpe Crows forward, AA team player and Premiership Medallist and I want to tell you about [name of bandages here]" ... <<holds up packet in Knuckles-Kerley type hand>> ... "which have held my fingers together for over 10 years". :sneaky:

Watching the afl mini-match replay.
Another poster suggested that it might have been a Coach instruction to play from behind I50, especially to get Thilthorpe one-on-one in space.
In the first 15 minutes, the ball is delivered a few times towards Thilthorpe (behind) but not long or deep enough for him to muscle his way into a mark.
Each time, the kick forward is picked off.
That's on the blokes kicking forward, the deliverers.

A couple others have mentioned this; one even said it was 'coke'.
Does anyone have a link or more info about that, please?

All I could find was something about "Prescription drugs".
Is that like Wayne Carey's plastic bag of "Ibuprofen" that he was busted with at Crown Perth? (that has to be close to the most expensive no-brand painkiller going around) ;)

One to add to the ugly pile: what was the story of the line marking at AO not being refreshed during the week? Did they forget to do it, or couldn't be arsed? The leftovers from last week looked pretty shabby when the sun was out - it was almost impossible to see the outer center circle.
