I think the midfield was keeping us in games last few weeks when we got all those defensive injuries. Then Caldwell last week, Martin and Setterfield now it’s way too many

This game deserves the full melt.

Almost all the young players struggled to touch the ball tonight, and all the senior players butchered it.
Unexplainably, there were no positional changes through the night to try and get them into the game.
Disgustingly absent coaching and horrific from most of our senior players.
If the game plan clearly isn't working, change something, anything. It was laughable when 3 mins to go Merrett moved to full forward.
IF it wasnt already clear that Scott cannot coach on matchday... He isn't going anywhere next year most likely, so the assistants need a shake-up.

We are the third lowest scoring team in the comp with Norf over a goal a game clear of us.

Can’t do much as a coach when your players keep kicking it straight to the opposition.

Tsatas managed to avoid doing what the normally ‘good’ kicks for us kept doing.

To many of our players try and run their opponent under the ball trying to get the easy one out the back only to get simply out marked, it’s weak in the contest and just downhill skiing

Can not make a silk purse out of a sows ear. The season is shot from injury. This is not on the coach.

Thought Blakiston was good, mid-season draft been good for us.

I actually agree with this,maybe it's just that I had very little expectations of him. I thought he showed decent agility for a tall, he at least has some penetration in his kicking and he was nowhere near the worst decision maker on our team tonight. Whether there is a posistion really suited to him nt sure, he is easily pushed aside in the contest, but it is worth remembering he has not had an AFL preseason, comes out of a WAFL comp that is significantly below VFL level, and is playing an unfamiliar position

but really with Martin and Setterfield out, it just means that Perkins and Gresham get a reprieve who were only ok in a VFL side that got flogged.

The confusing part to me, and i cant tell if its player ability or player driven, but we make attempts to free up our poor user senior players to receive the ball. We would be a much more coherent team if every time McGrath or Laverde touched the ball it was Johnson or Clarke instead.
Tsatas kicking looked poor whenever he was rushed. hopefully just needs a few games to pick up the speed.
Smart seems like another Menzie.

Interestingly Caddy needs to get the sooking out of his game. His leading almost completely stops when they miss him a few times. Almost a why bother sorta reaction. Get used to it mate, thats our midfield.

Clubs win multiple flags, dynasty ends and they fall off a cliff to the bottom. Rest assured though they will rebuild and rocket back past the perennial shit truck that is Essendon.

Its very easy to coach when your players are executing. A real coach makes changes to help his players when they are struggling.
