They were impressive full stop , there is an element of they were just ****ing amazing and a lot of sides would have struggled

Yeah that 2nd half from them was super impressive and they were just ON.

I think the most concerning is this massive drop off when a team gets momentum and we just fold. It happens a few times a year and when it happens its truly mind boggling to watch.

Unlikely. Since we went on a signing spree last year & now have a pile of long term contracts on the books.

On a related topic: I struggle to identify a single player who has improved after signing a long term contract. Most have gone backwards.

In fairness our game plan was bang on for the 1st half, we were excellent.

Completely Outcoached in 2nd half and an inability to change. We need a way to minimise the oppos run on. Still a lingering issue from horse.

We will be back better than ever next year.

Kbroome we are now good to go with giving youth a chance.

Poor old roberts was all at sea. Felt for him as his confidence is shot.

Was a hard watch and he was so far out of his depth. Really needs a solid block in 2’s to regain confidence.

Callaghan played the sort of game we needed from either heeney or Warner.

Negating our top players goes a long way to beating us.

The relish with which some stick the boot into a club and players they claim so support is so bizarre.

I don't mean people blowing up about our second half performance. I mean those who are nowhere to be found after a win but crawl our of the woodwork on a night like tonight and make sweeping statements about all and sundry being completely hopeless, not caring, with no chance of competing ever again. The monday morning quarterbacks who just play the results and make themselves out to be geniuses through hindsight.

Our team has played this same match a few times now - I don’t think the team has no heart but the frustration across several years and several massive defeats

Buller and Hayward had it 10 and 9 but you single them out for praise. I am not saying they weren't better than Francis but your acting like he should have had it 25-30
times. At least he presented and marked, again Buller took 1 , Francis took 4.

He was putrid at least Hayward you know kicked goals the sort of thing forwards have to do. Buller for his experience was good especially on the ruck. What do you expect with a VFL dud in Francis he’s never ever going to be good enough

Was the wrong match up, callaghans running ability is elite, very hard to track for anyone.

JJ has been very solid this year with a few notable scalps, he can’t go with them all though. We need to be smarter on how we use his skills at locking down.

Turn Campbell into a mid. Yea he’s not getting the pill but he tries his guts out. He halves a hell of a lot of contests for a bloke his size, just making up for poor skills and decisions from teammates

He was a very, very good midfielder as a junior. Either give him a crack or get rid, instead of trying to turn him into something else. You are spot on with his ability to halve a lot of contests for a small guy.

It sucks and I fully understand people wanting that miracle run into finals

But its now time to be realistic, what can we get out of this season to make us better set up for 2026

We need to look at the 30 year old plus players and think are they are going to with us next year (Rampe, Hamling, Fox, Adams, Cunningham, Lloyd and Grundy)

We also need to get games into Snell and Dattoli and not just wait for the absolute perfect time for them to debut.

We need to focus on the development of Cleary as an on baller not as a small forward

We need to think about players that are valuable at the trade table that won't get incredibly much better (finished product), (Florent, Sheldrick etc)

We also need to think about Green's development, Bowman is he a half back or half forward, Leidler is he a small defender or small forward

Buller had it 10 times with 5 clangers and won 7 hitouts and your happy but Francis had it 10 and only 2 clangers- yes he missed the 2 goals but i'm not claiming he was BOG.

Just saying he did ok in a shit forward line and calling him a VFL dud is just nonsense imo when you rate others who were equal or worse as in our bests ....
