Nash has a huge engine & imo the best matchup Hawks have for Curtin, outside Weddle who is injured.

Murphy was on him but he's useless, he was far too far away from Impey to have any impact so poor Rachele had to cover the slack despite clearly being a primary offensive weapon for us and not someone tasked with a defensive role

Yes, Murphy was matched up on Impey but disguised it by standing next to Amon for more than 3 quarters.

Personally I reckon touching some grass or getting some Vitamin D is a healthier way to spend your day than going to Officeworks, buying a notepad, rewatching a terrible game of football that we lost, noting down where the worst player on our list was at any given time, just to prove a stranger wrong on the internet.... but that's just me.

Lovely to see that the Cartel members are up and about. It’s been a very tough couple of months for the guys.

I attend all the games in Adelaide (and an occasional one interstate) and watch the other games live on “tellie”. I watch footy with passion but also try to understand not only what has happened but also why. I always rewatch every match during the week to pick up the tactics, match ups, changes to game plan etc.

You may consider this a waste of time just like I consider making 100 Bigfooty posts a week about how shit Nicks and Murphy are might also not be the most productive way to use your time (general comment, not necessarily directed at you).

Murphy was on Impey most of the time? Were you in Launceston for the match? This is now Bigfooty Folklore and it is also Bigfooty Bullshit. The correct answer is that Rachele spent most time on Impey.

Try this, re-watch the match and write down which of our forwards was closest to Impey every time he has a disposal. Also note who was the closest defender to Murphy every time he is visible on the tellie. Since I have done this, I am happy to compare notes with you.

Murphy did a fair but not great job on Amon. That would be the same player that Sam Mitchell mentioned this week as one of two Hawks who should be in the All Australian Squad (along with Gunston). Murphy didn’t get a lot of the ball (11 disposals, 7 tackles, 2 clearances), he didn’t hurt Hawthorn with his disposals and had his usual couple of shocking moments.

has revealed Hugh Bond will play his first game for the season against Hawthorn on Friday night.

Bond will replace Max Michalanney in the Crows’ defence, who was ruled out for the next four-to-six weeks after he sustained a hamstring injury in last week’s win against Port Adelaide.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Nicks was excited to see what Bond would bring to the group.

“Next man up, unfortunately for Max, so (Hugh) Bond will play,” Nicks said.

“We have great respect for Hawthorn’s small forward line, and how dangerous they are, so it would be nice to have a few Bond’s to be honest - but we do rate our guys down back to get the job done as a team.

“Bondy is a great in for our group, it will be his first game for the year and we know what he is going to bring.”
