It’s not that I think Payne will necessarily be a player either, but it just shows the massive disconnect between our drafting & our coaching. Surely whoever we drafted in the MSD has to be close to getting a game as is, before they enter AFL level training & coaching, considering where we are at.

But no, instead it’s just shit after shit pick. And we never get to see whether these types are “play up” types

All the AFL needs to do is to tell ALL clubs to name their 22 plus 3 emergencies on the Thursday and IF a player cannot play for any reason then an emergenciy comes in..Get rid of having to named a final squad on the Friday as all teams playing on a Sunday have to do the same thing anyway so no team gets an advantage..

I hate shitting on young players but Wil lost a one on one marking contest with Brad Close last week and looks to have about a half of footy in him before he blows up. He looks tired. I’d prefer we stick Logue out there to get embarrassed and battered than continue to push Dawson.

Hopefully Logue doesn’t get embarrassed and plays well ey. He’s a good athlete, but I reckon there’s a footballer in him too.

But beyond that on any conceivable metric, there's no reason why you drop Dawson over Logue. No idea. Not really sure what we are doing.

Respect your opinion, but the flip side to that is Zac Dawson who Clarko kept playing while he was getting bags kicked on him every week.

Confirms Clarko is either taking the piss in his role as senior coach or he is so rattled by how badly is he coaching that he just makes it up on the run now - no strategy, no long term thinking - basically nfi.

Not that surprising though - Wil gets lots of encouragement privately and praise publicly, alongside getting told he is going to work on some things in the VFL. I just hope it’s not for long and that he actually is working on defence, not continuing the forward experiment.

Very glad to see Larkey and George named, and pleased for Cooper. Definitely thought Payne could have had a run ahead of any of the small forwards who were kept in. Think Jy will be more of a loss than most people seem to expect. I’d had enough of Logue and Daniels last week but can also see why they are kept in, especially with Jy going out.
