Good or bad we're stuck with the coach, player wise we need a Richmond like clean out.
No knocks on the effort by all.
We need a Piggy, Tracca or Reid urgently.

Not for the first time some more senior players looked disinterested and not ready to dig in.

Kako, Roberts and Nguyen where highlights. McGrath solid- minor miracle- Duz just been Duz.

We competed against a side who are pushing for finals, so I can't argue with that.

Perkins starts on fire then goes missing again,

At one stage I thought Gresham or Perkins had been subbed off early.

We need to play Blakiston full game in the ruck and bring in Gerreyn down back. Davey, Johnson to come in for Gresham & Guelfi (wont happen as Scott pick for positions)

Perk gets another game but Hobbs back to VFL if we have a replacement.

Obviously we don’t have a replacement because the useless **** has played all year.

A pretty good effort considering the side we had on the park. Probably about the best we can hope for at this point.
I'm not sure what to think about the fact that our youngsters seem more capable of stringing games together without getting injured than the blokes who have done so many preseasons.

Nguyen had some moments. Could potentially see a player there.
Roberts definitely has some tricks. Hopefully he can tidy up his ball use. If he does he'll threaten elite status in years to come.
Durham continues to battle on. Man i wish we could have seen him playing more half forward with a fully fit list, rotating on ball. I think it would have been terrific.
A few players are seriously battling and shouldn't be playing AFL or aren't ready.

No 1 player that shits me: Hobbs - how on earth can this guy not lay an effective tackle without getting his opponent high? I accept that he's slow and has really poor disposal. Fair enough not easy to change that - and if you were a great contested beast maybe you could get away with it. But the tackling thing drives me nuts. Nearly all the frees he gives away are avoidable and if you replaced him with another player would just be a bloody tackle. This isn't just this one game either its a regular occurrence. Always comes in with the arms wide, doesn't get low enough. Looks 'tough' - actively hurts our team.

Marking is deplorable, 136 to 42 against a side where marking is not their strong point. Cats will destroy us. We continue to bomb it to contests with no marking power and 2MP not looking like he could even catch the flu. Durham was out highest with 5. Swans had 3 equal with 5 and 12 players higher!

2MP & Goldy had 3 between them.

Yeah we are young and inexperienced but 3 fundamentals of footy we suck at.

1. Marking
2. Turnovers
3. Goal kicking accuracy

Don't address these and we will be another 20 years without a final.

Thought funny part of the telecast the main caller (Huddo?) says Durham picked up as pick 9 in mid season draft and has taken off last couple of years. Dermie then says “yeah h probably hasn’t lived up to the no 9 pick as they had hoped”. Slight pause..

Huddo: no that was the mid season draft

Dermie: Oh!!!

Even still I’d say last two seasons he’s been a worthy latter first round pick

The dumber part of that is that you would be happy using a pick 9 on a player like Durham.

Im gonna give derm benefit of the doubt and say I think he thought Huddo was talking about perkins, he was waxing lyrical about durham just seconds before and they had discussed a couple of times that perkins had shown signs early in his career but hadnt kicked on.

Thanks for getting on my marking band wagon 😎
Only been an issue for 10 years.

Opp teams will rest key players thinking a win against Ess is in the bag. And while they may be somewhat correct, the dons came close and i would have loved for ess to have beaten Syd twice this year. Just a key injury or two less prob would have made a difference. Not sure why Syd felt the need to rest anyone tbh.

An honourable loss with the youngsters showing effort. Lual needs a rest, looked a bit cooked this weekend.

A pretty average result for the Swans given the respective line ups.

Nguyen showed some good signs, nice first up.

I’m hopeful of the new gen coming through. It was an avg game by the swans but I’m happy with the effort Ess made to stay in the game as long as they did.
