Plenty of our elite players we have developed have gone on to have great success at other clubs. - Bock, Davis, Tippett, Gunston, Lever, Cameron, etc.

Out problem over the past 25 years hasn't been development - it has been player retention.

I tend to think Lever's post Crows career has been a little bit underwhelming to be honest. One AA (noting he'd already made the 40 man squad in 2017)

Only played more games in a season than he did for us in 2016 once.

Only had more disposals than he did in 2016 once and 2017 twice.

5th in the clubs B&F and an AA Jumper in a premiership year doesn't sound underwhelming to me.

Will hit 200 games next season before he turns 30.

Well to be fair that would require us to draft one does it not. Recently all our best picks have gone elsewhere. Up until Draper. But I wouldnt discount anyone from our current crop becoming elite.

Sid is no Max Holmes, has limited weapons. He'll have a decent career but will never be a top AFL footballer. Would trade him for Harvey Langford in a heartbeat

Nah. Not at all. He looked good when at CBAs.

I think there was concern over how he was recovering after AFL games. More preseason gym work etc.

He'll be great. The people who work with him seem to be thinking that its getting him an AFL ready body. Not a skill issue imo.

And when he comes out next year. Both groups will claim this proves them correct.
The club managed him well and is now reaping rewards vs see he should have played last year.

The Tippett sanctions and Gibbs trade limited our access to top picks.

Funnily enough those making the "when was the last time argument" seem to be the same people hard core into the "we need to bottom out to rebuild to access picks". Then they are the most upset that we have lost all these games in the rebuild (that got us access to picks) and those losses prove we suck....
